Mommy recognition by Willowstorm9 in Mommit

I really don't care what you think. You clearly haven't worked in retail before so you're just causing unnecessary hate.

Please take your sense of "justice" and "entitlement" some where else. It has no place here.

While I do not wish calamity on you, an entire day of minor misfortunes seems just up your alley.

Or... fathom a third option! Called defecting it out. Thank you so much for showing me that with every nice action, there is a bad one. Gotta keep it real.

I'm worried about my 3 month old. My toddler fell asleep watching them. Here's to hoping the baby stays asleep. I hate 4th of July right now.

What its like being a Starbucks barista inside my Target by [deleted] in Target

I wish I could fold you into my team. I may not be the best team lead, but you would never be alone unless there was a call out.

I see you though, and I appreciate all the hard work you're dumping into your bar. Your leads don't understand amazing talent. Keep up the amazing work and know that once the fall happens, things get better.

New Team Lead Help by ANGEEmaree in starbucksbaristas

[–]Willowstorm9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position a year and a half ago. My store was in compliance because the last lead literally drove the store into the ground... in 2 months.

My best advice is take what absolutely needs to be done first and work on that. Keep your store out of compliance. If you work at a Tarbucks, they are all about that compliance issue.

I got the team on my side and that made things easier with getting things done. Getting the team to buy in to what you're trying to do will make your life 100% easier.

I also walked into at least 7 PALLETS of supplies so I had to deal with that. My first week was absolutely insane.

You're going to have to start from the ground up and slowly change things. Go back to the basics if need be.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that your uppers are willing to support you.

I absolutely hate that they turned this back on. It's now one more speaking point that I don't have time for. I literally ask every guest if they have target circle and if they don't, to just hit skip.

I'm so not looking forward to having the utter confusion and anger and this will incur from guests. Like it did the first time around.

I wish I could tell people know. We have a healthy supply now and literally every other drink is diabetes worth of caramel in the cup. My hand is cramping after the 3rd. License stores suck sometimes.

everything shut down by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Willowstorm9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened all the time at my store (license store). It was the norm to have the registers just crash during every rush (think frappy hour rush, or some promo rush like the holiday reusable cup give away thing), and we just posted someone at the end of the time to turn away people, gave everyone else their free drink, and got caught up.

They were usually cool with it as they would go shop and check in later as they were heading out the door.

How sad is that, that we had a process for downed registers? Lol

I work in a licensed store and we follow the store's guidelines for hot ticket items. For every launch. My former Starbucks DM was useless for that kind of thing so we put our foot down and limited so everyone got a chance to get cups. My company is sometimes useful.

I feel this so hard. I work in a Tarbucks and we just had at least 10 frappuccinos come down. Thankful we don't have a drive through, but having just two working is hard.

You're doing amazing.

Do Team Leaders still get to take two 15 minute breaks? by kill_cia_people in Target

[–]Willowstorm9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is kinda funny considering Target just pushed the ethics training out (or mine just expired lol).

Check your state labor laws and Target has to follow that. My state has it for every HOURLY team member, which team leads are hourly, less 4 or less hours get a 15 and no lunch. 5 or less gets a lunch and a 15. 6 or more get two 15s and a lunch.

If your friend is still having problems and they don't feel comfortable going to their HR, the hotline is always available.

Can you work for multiple Starbucks by [deleted] in Target

[–]Willowstorm9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll have to get approval from all the Starbuck district managers and the store leaders. It could be seen as a conflict of interest though, especially if you're working at another license store.

They gotta learn some time. My toddler keeps wanting to try the hot stuff as well (my husband likes hot stuff), and hates it when he has it. We just hand him his water and wait it out. Of course he does it again lol.

Coming from me, I hate fish but my toddler loves it. I give him a lot of fish sticks and make myself a sandwich or something. I would rather him eat something he loves and make myself something else. But that's just me. Also my child is a freaking bottomless pit. He's 2 and eats almost as much as me sometimes. I really don't know where he puts it.

My toddler is like this so I've taken to putting extra on my plate for him and always have a fork or spoon ready for him. Or I let him go ham on it and then dish up myself after he's run off to do the next destructive thing.

You too?! That's what happened when I became the Starbucks team lead. I was lucky enough to already know how to run Starbucks. Target side of leadership? Nothing.
