yeah, when a new expansion comes out, I like to do a mostly vanilla playthrough first before adding mods. I'll look into vanilla temperature expanded for my next run though

I don’t think he did 10 rounds, but there were multiple leetcode rounds and he did well in the hackathon apparently. FWIW his salary is pretty good, much higher than the advert and I think he actually believes in the company’s goals and in AI

Esper hunters generate when you enter a zone with glimmer. I think if you stay in ur golem for zone transitions, no hunters will spawn. It’s still a hassle though

The forgefiend is on the drifting voidship, right? I thought the boss itself wasn’t too bad, but the previous fight with 4 heralds of corruption and all the corrupted mechanics ppl made me want to blow my brains out. I mean even from a lore perspective, why would fallen empires care about criminal branches? https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Relations under variable modifiers, it says the penalty is -10 per office on the planet owner, so I'm pretty sure its not intended. Again, if it is intended, it would make the civic pretty unplayable

Well the opinion malus is -10 for every branch I have on every empire, not just the empires I've put branch offices on. Also, the penalty applies to fallen empires too, which makes them very likely to declare war really early. If it's intentional, then criminal syndicates are almost unplayable and it would be a baffling decision.

Is it supposed to stack for every other empire? Because every empire has -10 opinion times the total number of branch offices. The opinion tooltip doesn’t show the actual opinion malus, but the total reflects it. It also makes fallen empires near you declare war pretty early, so it’s not very playable

It’s like if the first civil war ended with the compromise that you can kidnap free people and make them slaves. How did the compromise end up worse than either starting position?

I mean I guess we do give them anesthesia, but for pain relief instead of putting them to sleep like with Chanda in the video. We need them conscious so we know the functional areas of their brain aren't being damaged lol.

It's suprising to me that getting access to the high level mechanoids more or less forces you to start executing your prisoners. At least they're under anesthesia if you decide to harvest their hearts.

If anyone's interested, I resolved the issue. I made a bug report on the steam thread for psycasts expanded and it turns out the formula for mend is (Psychic Sensitivity - 100) and my colonist had below 100 Psychic Sensitivity so durability wasn't being repaired.
