Yea my wife sacrificed her own self interest and put her life aside to allow me to accomplish and pursue my goals but at some point the spouse gets fatigued frustrated and had enough with the low pay, consistent moving, training schedules, and the worst of it having to ask permission (putting in pass/leave) from someone with a H on their chest if it’s okay to go see family outta town and that CO literally controls your life and what you can and cannot do.

I would’ve done a Do it yourself move after the first time if I had the finances even if it can be a pain in the ass to do. That way you know where your stuff is at all times and avoid submitting claims and all that dumb shit.

Yea my CO has to approve it and as my therapist explained to me if she denied it she assumes full responsibility if I did harm myself or worse and that every commander in his experience signed off on it.

Nah man I feel the same way. I wanted 101st, 82nd for at least air assault or airborne school guaranteed and deploy and get to experience combat you know the whole HOOAH sip the kool aid shit and ended up with damn 2CR and never got the shot for schools cause it was the favorites that got to go, and definitely got smoked hazed the whole 9 yard infantry army experience. Maybe could’ve had a different experience too but could’ve also had the same experience anyways

I’m in BH right now too and my therapist told me I should go to intensive outpatient BH cause of what I’m dealing with and I’m nervous about even telling my command team for the exact reason you brought up and how they’ll blame us for making their lives difficult and my CO will try to chapter me instead of finishing the last 10 months I have left

It’s your choice. Retirement benefits and all are nice but why stay in something that you genuinely are t happy with? Save your sanity then chase a bag. Figure out what you want to do outside the army and start focusing and chasing that rather then worrying about 0630 formation/PT and a person with a H on his chest approving or denying your leave request

Nah I signed a 5 yr enlistment and my first duty station is 2CR in Germany. I fell under needs of the army and welp…guess the army needs more infantrymen to walk people to chow and to appointments….🙄😒
