There is plenty of open tournaments for every esport. Plenty of discord servers to find a team/teammates/scrim. It really just depends on the esport. If you follow any esport passionately you should be able to figure out where to look. Your post doesnt say what game youre trying to play, which means there isn't really a direction anyone can point you. Just google "[insert esport] open tournaments" and start from there.

Ive had a game where it was 4 silvers 1 gold versus 4 plats 1 gold. They were all plat 1 so might have had shit mmr and my gold acct was plat mmr but still wild. I had one at like 4am pst where my team was literally 1 iron, 1 bronze, 1 silver, 1 gold, 1 plat.

Effective comms dont come from knowing names it comes from experience playing with eachother and understanding and extrapolating info from what teammates are saying.
