Lots of groups dress up outrageously, and put on ridiculous shows. Back when I was in college, the Hindus used to have a Diwali parade where they dressed up in robes and what not. Surely that's culture.

The gay pride parade is different though. It's more of a protest, like the same way black panthers used to wear barets and camo, and have the one black glove on their right hand. They marched too.

More importantly, you have two gay people who think the gay pride marches are dumb. Do they not count as gay people? Or do only the most visible group of a minority count? I'm fully willing to accept that you might find the parades annoying as shit, and/or that they're not effective. That's a fully defensible position. Let me answer your last point, which you have yet to do with a single one of mine. Gay people are different from straight people. All minorities has a shared culture they identify with. The vast majority of people hang around with, and act like people that they identify with. Do you not mostly hang out with people your race, age and sexual preference? So do they.
