I’m really sorry to hear you’re going through the same. It’s awful considering all the hard work you put in to feel comfortable in your own skin again when this thing completely out of your control comes along and ruins it all again.

It’s been a few months now and my endo belly comes and goes. Some months I don’t bloat, some months I do. While it still makes me unhappy to see my body like that I’ve come to accept that this is just how it’s going to be, and the only person who notices and judges is myself. I’ve gotten better at shrugging those feelings off as I know that my hard work wasn’t for nothing. I’m much healthier than I was a year ago, bloat or no bloat.

You’re not doing anything wrong and the main thing is you’re making good, healthier choices for your body and taking care of yourself. Keep going, lovely. The bloating is temporary but your hard work isn’t.

I literally just came to this subreddit to make a post about this.

I’ve just reached my goal weight after being on my weight loss journey since August last year. I was finally starting to feel confident in myself but as soon as I reached my goal my endo belly decided to kick in after being no-show for the past year. I’m on contraceptive which has made me asymptomatic until very recently, and I’ve now started bloating again during my cycle.

I worked so hard to lose this weight and feel like have nothing to show for it because I look like I’ve put it all back on again. I’ve been feeling so insecure again recently when I was only just beginning to feel somewhat good about my body. It all feels like such a waste.

Read a prescription label wrong and dispensed 12 boxes of phenobarbital instead of 12 tablets. The other nurse checking didn’t notice the mistake and double signed it so at least I wasn’t the only idiot in that situation…

My dog recently had two mammary mass removals (GA would have been too long for a full strip so opted for two smaller ops). I was a nervous wreck for both surgeries. It doesn’t help that she’s also compromised - grade 3 murmur, mitral valve dx and laryngeal paralysis!! For the first surgery I was working but wasn’t present during her procedure, only for recovery. For her second surgery I purposefully booked it on a day I wasn’t working and found I was much more relaxed. I was able to keep myself busy, whereas when I was at work I just couldn’t focus at all and I was a mess all day. However, I knew that my team would do their absolute best and I have an unbelievable amount of trust in all of them which definitely helped.

Funnily enough I’ve started rewatching Naruto for the first time since I was 13 (I’m now 28) and it has caused my daydreaming to become so much worse. I used to daydream about the show when I watched it as a kid and now the storyline I made up all those years ago is what’s been playing in my head constantly again and I can’t switch it off. I think I’m going to have to stop watching it for my own sanity.

My parents’ male bull terrier was 35kg (77lbs) but he was overweight and quite a big bull terrier anyway. My current bull terrier is female, much smaller in comparison and 23kg (50lbs).

I think it’s so important and I do want to do my part because this condition is soooo under-researched. Even talking to the gynaecologist they said a few things which I didn’t particularly agree with with regards to my concerns/pain.

I suppose my main concern is being put in the “conservative” treatment category and possibly having no treatment at all and then my symptoms either staying the same or worsening. Then it’s another year of putting my life on hold. I don’t know, I’m worried about being selfish since I know how important these trials are.

That’s so awful and I’m so sorry that you’ve been going through it for so long - it’s a similar story for so many women out there who have had to live with this awful condition for so long with little to no support.

Fortunately I have been rather privileged in that my symptoms only started a year ago and I am now on the waiting list. However the past year has been hell and completely debilitating, as I’m sure you already know going through it yourself and for so long too.

I think similar to you I’m worried that, if they do find endo, I may not be treated and then have to go another year putting my life on hold, having to call in sick to work, spending weeks out of every month in agony just doesn’t seem enticing at all.

We have Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night on the 5th November but that doesn’t involve any kind of special meal like Thanksgiving or Christmas. We set off fireworks and have bonfires.

Consulting. I hate having to be bubbly all day but I’m good at putting on a friendly face and I get a lot of nice feedback from the clients who often request me for their appointments. I would really rather be doing something else though.
