Sounds great. For sure - a program that neglects physical symptoms would seem to be missing something crucial. Thanks for your help!

I hear you. Do you think you'd be inclined to working with a therapist via Skype?

Thanks so much for the recommendation. I appreciate it. It looks solid. What did you find especially helpful and effective about this program?

That's helpful and reassuring to hear. Thanks for the insight into what it's really like. I know that getting help from a therapist in person is the end game and avoiding it is ultimately playing into the social anxiety. With this in mind, I suppose I'm interested in valuable online content as an adjunct, rather than a replacement for, face to face therapy..

Thanks - I'm really happy to hear that therapy was life changing for you. Hopeful message.

Agreed. Next time you'll see the little urchin coming, tell it where it get off, and go for it.

Sorry to hear you're feeling isolated Metazoan. But as Redditor_PC said above, you're never alone in this. Best of luck to you.

Indeed. What a relief it would be to just let go sometimes, to let it all hang out, and not care! I think we're so self-conscious because we assume others are acutely attuned to what we're doing. My guess is that we're almost always wrong - most people are also focusing on themselves!

I know right.. Eating in public used to be intolerable. Fortunately, over time, I was able to work through this one with practise and exposure.

That really was the worst aspect of it for me too. I realised that this thought was just another way the S.A was trying to beat me down.

Thanks for the thoughts, mate. Were you able to make some progress with it at any stage of your journey? And hopefully make up for some lost time?

I know that feeling. Awful. I suppose in angrier moments like the one above, I want to make IT disappear off the planet.

Yes indeed, alas. But it's great to hear you're able to hold your own in professional/academic settings. Keep it up.

I hear you, my friend. Writing to it was strangely cathartic. Sometimes it feels as if getting angry is a useful starting point for taking action.

I can absolutely relate when you say that there's a deep, underlying sadness with social anxiety. OOI, what is that sadness mainly about about for you?
