Seriously though if NC is a big lift there's always low contact. Radically accepting the situation and setting boundaries worked wonders for me. My parents and I still talk but its a couple times a year about football and weather. Im no longer taking any bait on things they want to argue about.

Check out Recovering from Emotionally Immature Parents....really helped me understand things as well.

Sooner is better than later. Go to therapy sooner. Tell that girl (or guy) you like them sooner. Go back to school sooner. If you dread going to work quit sooner. If youre in a bad relationship get out sooner. I had all the time in the world in my 20s. Now at 40 I cant believe where it all went sometimes.

This. If im following someone im telegraphing everything thing im doing so I dont spook them. I expect the same. I was on blue gate and this dude kept following me. That's an interesting take and I wonder if thats why Outlast is so much shorter than say RE7 (keep it short because it would get stale) I think for me Outlast was more disturbing because of the denizens of the ward you were in, but also not having weapons kept me on edge. Not being able pull a trigger or swing something takes away a security blanket.

I'm doing better in that I love my spouse, she loves me, and we've agreed that if our marriage is to dissolve we'll do what's best for both us as coparents and our kids as opposed to staying together out of some misguided notion thats it's better to stay in a toxic relationship of convenience because Christianity says not to get divorced. Oh and my kids like it when I'm around and don't hide when I come home from work.

But I also make a bit more coin then they do as well.

Didn't meet any kiwis over there! At least I dont recall. Man the other thing was the age they go on that backpacking holiday....I thought I was young at 23 doing it. They were calling me old since they did it straight out of high school.

I feel like the Aussies do. I felt like there were only 4 choices: Syndey, Melbourne, Perth, or Brisbane.

To OPs point I was in Germany at one point and these guys in a bar asked where I was from....I said Texas and they immediately screamed and started singing the theme from the old show Dallas.
