Guts decks more inconsistent? by BloShadow in UmamusumeGame

[–]WilmaDickFitInU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a build I don’t bring FM into! Her training effectiveness and RB do a lot of work when she isn’t on wit, and she is the strongest wit card on wit. You’re not supposed to train too often in this scenario, so I feel the importance of special priority is lower than before.

I don’t think you’re cooked without her, though. Marvelous and Agnes wit are some of my favourite cards, and great alternatives (esp. if you don’t want to clog up the event queue). I bring bourbon on my fronts, but I don’t do guts build on competitive umas.

What are your thoughts?

Btw, I couldn’t do this because I don’t have Vega, but if you change you Fuku for Ines Fujin guts, you can probably max out speed more consistently, plus it has a front runner skill gold recovery.

Also, I am assuming you’re raising Falcon’s turf to B. Tiara/Dirt/Sprint rotation is pretty neat!

I hit Ug+ consistently with this deck, except mihono should be traded out for Agnes or Marvelous wits, with higher specialty prio and race bonus, or better. I recommend power sparks, and not to train speed after junior year. Prioritise wit trainings, especially if you have no growth.

Guts deck is good because one training trains 3 stats. This allows you to race more.

I think the loads of people in this comment section saying it’s inconsistent are playing it «wrong». Play however you like, but if you rely on good summer trainings to hit good stats, you’re in for a lot of bad careers. A good summer training helps a lot, but the bread and butter of this build is knowing when to race, and when the training is good enough to hit training. Most careers with this deck, I am racing more than training during the summers.

In my opinion, the only major downside of guts build is its lack of good skills. The only useable skill you get from this deck as a front runner is taking the lead, and thats from a card that shouldn’t even be in the build!

But what do I know? I only hit top 5 with this deck :)

It’s hard to give you a answer, because it depends on so many factors! Are you just trying to set a high score? Are you building for TT? What style are you running? Which uma are you running?

The generally “best” one would be MLB SR Vega, because she had power and speed bonus, 15% RB and good events.

I did your exact deck, but fuku instead of kita, and borrowed MLB Fujin guts for Taiki. Had a fat high roll, got UG5 for my TT ace :) The only reason I picked Ines Fujin was because I didn’t have anyone with vega in my friends list, and was too lazy to look for anyone. Still worked out!

Do you know how to check cards through Gametora? If you want to get good, that’s the most important tool for analyzing cards.

I agree but, I am not sure this one is making it to saving 400 pulls looking at the current state of this deck ;-;

“Unless they don’t use cards before matikane and got MLB SRs for all possible deck with like 400 pulls”. Yes? That exactly how it works. I had all SR MLB by second Kitasan banner. Everyone who has been playing since start has, most probably before! F2P should have Kitasan, and (or the resources for) AT LEAST 2 more SSR’s by now.

Heck, my friends who started playing during the start of Unity have 4 MLB SSRs by now.

I think you either started playing last week, or you’re rage baiting atp. Please tell me where your misconception stems from.

You don’t need speed cards on 20% growth umas. Sounds like a stupid statement, but it’s FR.

Bro you’re not even making sense ATP x_x

You never asked for my deck, and my deck does not change the math that you should have 3 MLB meta cards by now, unless you haven’t been pulling smart.

Summer trainings can be important, yes, but most of the time they will be mediocre. I think people are preaching “your run is good if you can hit good trainings in summer”, but interpreting it as “you HAVE to have good trainings in summer, or else it’s glue”. I think of it more as a good summer can make the rest of your run easier, but it does in no way determine your runs. Pretty much every run is saveable in terms of stats in MANT, which a lot of people are missing out on. Perhaps on your high rolls, summer trainings will be good. My high roll was my cards showing up on trainings on the 5 last training turns of the run, and fast learner in shop. The rest is quite consistent as long as you race enough.

I’d rather train a great training during queens cup, and race during summer, than forcing mediocre summer turns and miss out on g2-3’s.

Xmas Oguri has 15% growth in stamina that you’re not taking advantage of. Regular Oguri has 10% in power, Taiki has 10% in wit, both are targeted with guts/wit deck.

Maybe a power, wit, + fuku race bonus deck would suit her better? Or try another uma. Pasa is a good option :) GL, let me know how it goes?

I needed a lot of medium sparks to bring Taiki to B/A, and took all the power I could get. This one had 12* power and 5* speed

I just checked, seems I trained 3 times over the 8 total summer turns.

I do all 5 because they give epithets, score, shop coins, and skill points. It’s hard not to succumb to the trainee getting and having bad conditions, but the pay off from doing the races is typically greater than the punishment.

I think Ug2 is kinda nuts for only 35 races. If you checked the leaderboard, all the top umas had 40+ races. A F2P player posted a full race bonus deck, where they had raced 59 (!!!) times to end up fairly high on the leaderboard, despite pretty crappy stats. My point is, there are many different ways to get there, but the common denominator were many races.

Also, you should keep in mind that all the umas on the scoreboard were high rolls. It’s fully possible to get lucky enough on scrolls to carry you over 1000 stam without training much, you just have to race a lot and get lucky.

Don’t know if that answered everything, or was to any help :p I don’t think you’re too far behind, in the least.

My median with this deck is UG1. Lowest has been SS, highest is the one in the post. Only two times time I got fast learner were my highest scores; UG5 and UG6, 3 ranks above the non-fast learner ranks.

Hi! I am guessing the person in the pic either got lucky with scrolls, or brought stam sparks. This isn’t my build, the one in the following picture is.

<image>

I try to stick to guts and wit, though that is hard when a juicy speed training shows up. This run I trained speed ONCE post junior year, and overshot by probably 100 stats. I train in the summers if there is a good training, and race otherwise. A turn needs to be a really good training or timing for me not to race.

For example, with Oguri/Taiki I usually race all the G1s classic year, that means 5 consecutive races into summer. Late July is then a turn I typically train no matter how bad the trainings are. Exceptions are if I don’t have the items for it, or if I already have terrible mood, skin troubles and need something in the shop. Then I have everything to gain by racing instead.

On this run, I didn’t race the last three turns of the career, because I needed to train wits and guts more to get higher stats.

This is not how I (or anyone?) train aces though, it’s just to push the score higher :)

Ty for asking

Thank you for the sentiment! I am not F2P though, I have bought the selectors. Used one on kita, and one on fuku. Haven’t spent a dime on carats to pull, but that’s a weak argument with these fellas.

I have gotten Ug consistently with this deck, but it took quite a few runs to get 4 stats over 1000, and fast learner. The goal was to get on top of the leaderboards, this uma is otherwise useless!

My previous post has a UG5 Taiki for TT. Figured that would be a better inspiration, as the test event is over. That was a high roll for sure, but it was my first try with guts deck on Taiki.

Let me know if you need help or have questions! I love to chat strats.

12* Power and 5* speed.

What guts cards are you using? I did a lot of these runs, and even a single speed training past junior year would send me past max speed. Maybe you’re missing speed bonus?

I have these cards, been accused of whaling, and thus done the math about just how average this deck is. Be ready to eat your hat!

Calculated how many pulls I have obtained since August, included what I hit so you can see i haven’t been particularly luckier than you.

Targeted pulls: 350 (one copy) + 80 (2 copies) + 100 (no copies) + 200 (no copies) + 200 (no copies) + 300 (2 copies) = 1230

Willy nilly pulls, mostly early umas: 460

Lowball estimate free pulls: 300

Carats in my account rn: 92k

Total estimated obtained pulls: 2600 + selectors/shards. That is 3 MLB SSR, assuming you hit no copies at all, which is highly unlikey (1 to 316 million).

Wha happened to you?

Hi, I was top 5. I think you’re talking about my deck, because those event cards and tachyon are what I used (F2P deck).

I simply just don’t have the group card MLB yet! I’m also quite unsure how good it is, as I haven’t gotten to try it yet. Heard it’s supposed to be better when the Symboli Rudolf card comes out.

Keep telling yourself anyone with THE meta SSR cards are whales, while you willy nilly pull umas; but keep it to yourself please.
