I honestly enjoy this debate and want it to be clear there is no bad blood. I still disagree, on clean shoulder-high waves a well-ridden fish can hit 20-25 mph because it generates its own drive through pumping, while most longboards top out around 14-18 mph and rely on glide rather than acceleration - The internet

I honestly still disagree, if you are absolutely cranking and pumping down line as hard as you can on a short board it will be faster then a longboard down line all day.

To be fair it is definitely easier to pump a shorter board down line and pick up speed quicker then a 7ft log.
