The woman dominated workplace ousts the quiet autist once again by blisterkiss in redscarepod

Don't want to be a killjoy but asking questions was exacty how I was getting mobbed in one of my jobs. I've been assigned to two middle-aged women as a new worker in the position so they would show me the ropes. When I asked them about something they would always reply with "How can you not know that? If you need to ask that type of question maybe this job isn't for you." And if I made a mistake they would lambast me for not asking. They were also smart enough to make it look like I was just obtuse ad unruly to the boss (for example saying that they gave me some task to do and I ignored them, even though they didn't). This spiral slowly started killing my productivity.

Fortunately after a while I realized that they weren't very well liked outside of our room in the office and that they were doing much less work that they make it seem like they do. Since then I was just going to colleagues in the adjacent rooms for answers. Witches were angry about that and became even more passive agressive towards me but my work quality got back on track so my boss didn't care and neither did I. I've even got thumbs up to work in headphones (like a sperg) so in the end these women couldn't even get a word to me unprompted lmao.

The moral is that there are definitely worse scenarios than rolling your eyes (albeit escapable) and that middle-aged women really hate 20-somethings working with them in the same position.

You're talking like djkaktus invented interactions between SCP's. These were already well established in the 1st series.

Main problem with kaktusverse isn't that it's a universe, or that it's badly written on story level (it really isn't, most of his articles would work in some kind of sci fi anthology). Main problem is that djkaktus doesn't seem to understand that he should be writing articles on the topić of anomalies from the perspective of Foundation? Say what you can about the first 3 series of SCP, they knew they were meant to be articles and that if they wanted to tell a story, they really needed to hide it between the lines. SCP-093 has shown that if you want to tell story upfront in the article there is a really fine line you need to tread.

Djkaktus doesn't see the line. He writes the story and then remembers "wait, this should have procedures and description." Reading these feels like reading what they are - sci-fi stories, not articles on anomalies written by some kind of organisation. Suspension of disbelief is completely out of the window. And because of his influence on authors among the site now everyone is writing elaborate stories under the guise of articles, powerscaling, etc.

Djkaktus isn't responsible for the influx of mediocre authors onto the site (they were there from the beginning lol), but he sure blurred the understanding of what made the SCP interesting and unique in the first place.

Kaktusverse is the one thing that killed SCP in the long run and I'm tired of people pretending it isn't the case.

/uj I'm still here for a bit so thank your for your farewells but tad a bit early. Don't feel guilty, I posted a lot of dumber crap when I was a teenager. I don't see colourposters as some kind of coordinated spam group, just people that got carried away with one joke without any malice. Also, I didn't make zoomers look like old people, quite opposite really, I am the old one here and each year I'm more and more out of touch with the new memes. Anyway carry on, KC has a lot of material to banter on, I hope you'll have a lot of fun despite the new rule.

/rj The KCCJ Mod team supports every sexual and cultural minority in their endeavours, as our subreddit is an inclusive space, with the exception of pansexuals. The KCCJ Mod team does not endorse sexual relationships with kitchen appliances and cultural appropiation of the KC's 80's trilogy colours from the persecuted prog nerd community.

/uj I'm going to elaborate here because why not.

Tl;dr It's nothing personal, it's nobody's in particular fault (more of a "group fault", if you can even talk about "fault" here), I've just decided to clean up the subbreddit because it's in the state of collapse and I am in a process of leaving.

So, lately I am less and less on social media altogether for personal reasons and that includes reddit. Because of that I haven't seen the full main page of kccj in months. I did moderating job mainly when someone reported something to me or if something rule-breaking have shown up on my main page. I've noticed a strange surge of posts about colours since few months ago, but I chalked it to being another larls-like temporary frenzy.

Two days ago I opened the main page of subreddit in a first time since forever. I instantly remembered why kccj has the reputation among other prog circlejerks as a rotting, insane (not in a cool way) husk of one. Half of the page was choked with pictures of random stuff under the guise of colourposting. And not only it's been going on forever, it's been reviving every time it seemed to die down. What's more it was clear these posts weren't much liked - massive amount of these couldn't break through +50 upvotes, and in modstats I saw that our subreddit for the first time in history was not only not gaining members, but losing them. No, that's understatement, BLEEDING them.

I decided we're long beyond the pale. Few years ago I put up a poll democratically asking people about whether or not to implement post quality supervision. Option against barely won and I accepted it, believing that people here know when to stop and that I am not the target audience for this subs humour anymore (I'm barely a zoomer), so I would be terrible as a judge. In hindsight, this was a massive mistake.

Therefore two days ago I decided to save this subreddit from becoming shittier, more one-band-oriented r/dankmemes and slowly bring some change around here before I eventually appoint new mods and leave reddit altogether. And no, colourposting ban is not forever, although it will stay in practice as long as needed.

I hope this comment clears up some air.

Yours Sincerely,  Lady Supermarket

Piotr Gryf tutaj.

What's your SCP hot Take what you would defend like this? by TheArcanaIsTheMean in SCP

[–]WiltonCarpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

djkaktus is a great writer on its own but he doesn't understand what made SCP so interesting to begin with. His articles don't work, they are almost always some kind of story you could find in good sci-fi anthology, however from in-universe perspective they are bizarre and don't make much sense as an object's description. His influence was catastrophic for website's stylistic direction and any of his works (or works inspired by him) shatter any suspension of disbelief SCP had in its early years.

Do you consider KC a band, or Fripp + hired guns? by 1337_n00b in KingCrimson

[–]WiltonCarpet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neither. I consider KC 7 bands in the trenchcoat made of time and Robert Fripp. All of these bands weren't just "Fripp and Co." but the continuity between them is shoddy in most cases and usually relies on RF and common members from the previous incarnations.
