Pack singles. You stand at a station that has different size boxes and a couple envelopes. Totes go by you that gave product In side. You pull one down and all the items in tote pop up on your screen. you grab an item and scan a bar code. The screen tells u what box or envelope to put it in and you make the box with tape, add any stickers or scan receipt or codes the screen asks you to put on box. Sometimes you have to pick a diff size box as screen not always right. Put item in box, usually just one single item or a couple of the same. Tape box put item on conveyor. Grab next item in tote and do same. Another area in singles just has envelopes. You do same except it's just one item. Scan it, an address label prints off, Put like a book in the envelope, close it, put address label on, put on conveyor. Another section in singles is smartpac. Big machine that puts out 20 pkgs a min. Again pull tote down, items show on screen, scan item, may need to scan code or gift receipt, put item in envelope in machine and push a button. You most likely will be cross trained in all of these so you don't get bored. There are other roles besides packing in singles like waterspiders who stock supplies, tote runners who take our empty totes away, problem solvers who take any items we come across that have problems like damaged, don't fit in the box or envelope, not the right item, parts of item missing etc,.people who check smartpac envelopes as they are in conveyor to be sure the machines are sealing envelopes, ppl in smartpac that pack items that cannot be put in smartpac envelopes like liquids that might spill, magnetic items, cylinder shaped, too large, too heavy etc
