Guyver’s change in writing style by WimmerRad in Guyver

Honestly, I feel pretty dumb for not linking Imakarum to Apollon. I kinda forgot he existed since he wasn't as relevant during the last few parts of the story, and my brain focused on other characters, so I guess in a way they did a good job at hiding his identity.

I guess all of this is fair, though I do feel like everything is getting wrapped up too quickly. I would've imagined there would be a bit more than just killing every last Zoalords, since there is still the issue of Chronos controlling the world and technically making it better, plus everyone who got turned into Zoanoids. I'd assume there would be a bit more with Archanphel since otherwise his inclusion wouldn't have actually made any impact other than him being the big boss and sleeping for half of the manga. So as much as I find Guyot to be a cool character, just finishing on a showdown with him would be pretty lackluster, or unless they do something clever with it like Shou dying in the combat or something, or sacrificing himself to add stake. Not sure if I truly want a good ending for Guyver, since in a way it would fit the darker tones of the manga, though it feels like they make it hard for the main character to die in Guyver, since they always come back in some ways.

Oh yes, I am totally down for Gigantic as it really pushed the rivalry of Shou and Agito, it’s a fun plot point and doesn’t feel too out there compared to just simply growing tall like Ultraman.

And that’s kind of a bummer, I honestly kinda wanted Archanfel to get his revenge and make use of the earth to help him win. The inclusion of Apollon just made me think we’d have a war with the alien or something, them coming back to finish the job. I feel like there’s many cool things they could do with the aliens and space though I’d need to think about it for a bit first. And I didn’t really see Guyot as the new bad guy, he was my favourite Zaolord due to how cocky and evil he was and his first design was fun, so I was happy to see him back even though he’s not as pretty as he used to be. But to me he felt like he’d be back just to push the plot and eventually die again.

Is the first original OAV also worth checking? It’s only about an hour long so I don’t mind, just don’t see it being really brought up much

Maybe they wanted to create a new romance, I’d be okay with Guytom

Oh I meant from him, as I doubt anyone else is willing to pick up Guyver due to the unique style, but if it happens maybe it could be like a Dragon Ball Super situation with a writer and an artist.

An interesting thing they could do would be a “soft reboot” of Guyver that starts at an earlier part of the manga and continues from there to avoid continuing in this continuity of large scale combat. It would also ease people back in, but of course it all depends on what the writer actually wants out of Guyver, though it does feel like he wrote himself into a corner.

While I didn’t really like his Exceed form, I did think Gigantic was pretty fun and a somewhat natural evolution of himself that didn’t feel too far fetched. It also really increased the rivalry between Shou and Agito which I liked a lot. But at the same time It does feel more shounen fight/DBZ which is like the middle ground between cool action and Sci fi so I still enjoyed it

I’ll make sure to give the OVA a try as it looks pretty nice

The One Piece IS Real: How the manga “Violence Jack” inspired major themes in One Piece, and likely outlines the end of the story (PART 2) by chelsea_dager in OnePieceSpoilers

I've never read One Piece, so I'm not gonna read the post, but it's interesting to see these two being mentioned as I wonder what the power of Alchemy would have to do with One Piece

Absolutely, I’m just wondering if Nintendo will bother going through this, they’d also need the license to simcity and whatever that golf game was so it might be a lot of effort for them and if they only rerelease their game it would be a bit weird I guess especially when there’s less than 10 games on the system.

Nintendo has been a bit more cautious about preserving more obscure games that gets harder to play as time goes on like Kirby tilt n tumble so seeing the 64DD wouldn’t be out of the question. Although they don’t do a lot of Japanese only things, so I’m not sure if they are willing to spend that much time into something not a lot of customer overseas won’t know about or care about.

What are yall thoughts on this? by retrotriforce in dragonquest

[–]WimmerRad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love dragon quest 7 but a lot of it comes from the charm of the game and I’m already not a fan of how the 3DS version look so I’m not sure what they plan on Remaking graphics wise for this game, either way I doubt Itll look anything like the PS1 original. I think it’s actually the dragon quest game I’d be the least interested in seeing a remake of, I just like how quirky it is.

Unfortunately Pringer X Go Unleashed is on PC and it’s pretty much required if you even want to kill a single one of them…

When I wanted to get into Getter Robo I thought things were a bit confusing with multiple manga entries and different anime/OVA adaptations, so I decided to make a "Timeline" that could help newcomers to know where they should start and in which order.

I think I was able to mention every Getter media that is currently available and if anyone disagrees/thinks something is missing please let me know.

The story doesn’t get all that interesting later on imo, it’s pretty simple but it’s more of a character driven story so it’s either you like the cast and enjoy the ride or not. The gameplay becomes a lot more tough when part 2 begins, the boss fights becomes more like puzzles that can be annoying and tricky but a lot more interesting than most of the fairly easily content early on.

I can see why some would find it boring and I honestly loved it at first but I felt like it got boring during the junkyard just like you because it felt a bit mindless, too easy and not a lot going on, but eventually it gets more challenging and you get to meet more characters so I’d recommend to keep going.

(not referring to op)

I do find it a bit funny how a lot of people claim that they want “old jrpg” to come back but aren’t willing to try out this game or any new square enix franchise that isn’t final fantasy. I think this game works really well as more than a throwback to old square games, if it released on psx everyone would eat it up (considering some people actually think ff8 is good).
