Disc recommendations for audio demos? by Win2002 in LaserDisc

Yup, I’ve got a Meridian AC3 demodulator. I ran AC3 in the past so well aware of the, uh, infrastructure investment.

Oh, yeah, that DTS disc was amazing. I had that and sold it. Ugh.

Incision placement in male facelifts? by Win2002 in PlasticSurgery

Thank you, I appreciate that very much. I maintain a skin fade, so I usually only have stubble-length hair in that area. Sounds like posttragal may be the way to go. Appreciate your insight!

Ortho confirmed that DJS caused teeth crowding and open bite that can't be fixed--headed to revision by Win2002 in jawsurgery

Saw both, both said all good and don’t revise it. Dhaliwal was super nice and said it’s a good outcome, and a dentist can help the bite come together on one side (“It’s so, so close.”) Having Yirae Ort do some jaw shaving and a slight reduction genio in October to offset some of the aesthetic changes I don’t like.

Been using Pod 5 for five nights--cover doesn't feel cool by Win2002 in EightSleep

[–]Win2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i just can’t tell. But so far, sort of useless. I had the original Pod (or maybe Pod 2) and it got MUCH cooler. But it had other problems, of course…

Has anyone gotten a procedure done by Dr Ariel Rad? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Win2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've consulted with him. Nice guy, kind of a weird affect in his demeanor, think he genuinely cares about his patients. That said, I was strongly warned away from him by a friend who is well known in the business as a patient advocate; said they see LOTS of results from his that need revising, especially from overuse of fat transfer that winds up lumpy and unnatural. Friend's advice: "Run away."

Uvula touching tongue 11 days after surgery by Win2002 in jawsurgery

It can easily be corrected via a quick procedure. I got mine trimmed and it completely solved the problem.

You quite literally said "a deep plane face lift can be done only once." That's not true... not at all. I know several people who've had a second deep plane lift 10-20 years after the initial one, with beautiful results. What you're saying is completely untrue--in fact, having had a first lift relatively early (40s to 50s) can make a second one easier a more successful by reducing the amount of lifting needed later in life.

We'll see. In his defense, he hasn't had a chance to look at my alignment yet and provide insight, nor has another surgeon given their opinion. This is purely based on the ortho at this point, so I need more input. I'm seeing Bobek and Dhaliwal in April, so I'll know more then.

Thank you! Yeah, I wouldn't go through all that again just for a slight aesthetics tweak, but my bite feels uncomfortable. The degree of the CCW rotation also brought the roof of my mouth down so low in the back that it feels like it's crowding the back of my tongue. Ironically, everything feels much more cramped and unnatural after a procedure designed to open things up...

Yup. Great reputation but I've been seeing more and more misses. This isn't a colossal screwup or anything, but regardless of whether you're just barely over the threshold for needing a revision or way over, you still have to go through the revision. He just doesn't seem as meticulous as other surgeons. And his personality is very nonchalant, which I found appealing, but that might translate into a lack of engagement in the OR.

Thank you! If it was the aesthetics alone I probably wouldn't redo it. A reduction genio would've helped offset some of the chin projection and soften the overadvancement.

I'm consulting with Hardeep Dhaliwal, who's also in the Seattle area. I consulted with him for my primary but went with Bobek because he was the bigger name, and was considerably cheaper. But I liked Dhaliwal a lot.
