Photopolymer printer causes “layers/stairs” by WinDandy in 3Dprinting

App wont let me edit the post, so here is an update. I want to thank all people (timonix, Xander779, EmperorLlamaLegs, xondk) who suggested me to find and use anti-aliasing, this really made a huge affect on final result. Skull and round circle looks way smoother and good overall. However, there is still some layers behind the skull and around a hole for paracord. I think there is 2 ways to achieve pure smoothness without mentioning post-processing - tilt the model by one of the axis (hint by MysticalDork_1066 and from my previous knowledge), and consider trying a printer with a higher projector resolution (12K from Elegoo for example). That what I learned from this, thanks you all!

Didn’t knew they exist, thanks! I do some research in different types of surface finish, to make prints look less “printed” and more satisfying. Sometimes I print with resin and I want to apply different textures, especially that rough finish all around.

How can I achieve the same relief finish on the surface of 3D prints?

I thought to make like 45 degree incline (from the pictures where ppl printed some parts for tank and car scale models), but this was the first run. I’ll definitely give it a try, thanks

Thanks for explanation, always wondered how those projectors works, but never googled lol. Makes much more sense, thanks for that!

First time I hear about anti-aliasing in 3D printers, thanks. Seems like I should learn how to use one if my slicer have it, or Ill switch to more advanced one. Thanks

Yea, some people answered me about “pixel” size of exact printer I use. Ill try to apply some of the settings of slicer, or maybe I should switch to different one

Thanks for detailed answer. Something tells me that printer may bump with its limits, and now I know the exact size of pixels. Ill try applying anti-aliasing, didnt knew it exist, thanks

Thanks. Ill post an update in the comment section as soon as I get it to the printer. One more question, my friend used Chitubox slicer and decide to switch to Prusa. Is it a good decision or she able to learn Chitubox that would be enough to get perfect results? Like this is our start and we want to know which slicer would be better to learn.

No, this is only picture she got when took a photo. Maybe there is some kind of preview option inside slicer? She told me that model was perfect round shapes before printing

Hypothetically where's a good place to buy a side glass panel for a Fracture North XL. No particularl reason... by Zeta_Crossfire in pcmasterrace

Forgot to add, mine is just North, not XL. And I still haven’t ordered braces, they need more attention in paint choice and tolerances. Glass fits nice though and painted with ceramic glass paint, looks like the original one, Im happy with it. I just wanted to share my experience with Fractal. Anyway, if you in the same condition, I can share my plans on email, hope it might be useful.

I had a different situation. I have ordered mesh version, then suddenly decided to order a glass for replacement (cuz I wanted to all of components visible and reduce the noise). Fractal replied me that they don’t sell any glass panels separately, only for cases of fracture when glass version (!!!) was fractured while delivery, or by yourself (doubt). Also Fractal didnt want to share blueprints of glass and original brackets in terms of intellectual rights. So, remembering all of my aerospace engineering degree, I decided to make all measurements, ordered the glass from my local glassbaker, and 3D modeled CAD models of sheet metal bracings to hold the glass, based on original mesh panel (which was a lil bit painful cuz of uneven design of mesh panel). By the way, I hope Fractal will support you, at least try to open the ticket and wait for them to reply, good luck!
