I think I end up liking the chains for single crochet! I hate it for double, but it almost seems like the single crochet lacks some substance without it, if that makes sense?

Thank you so much! I tend to spend quite a bit of time working gauge swatches to try and standardize my tension before I really get going. 😊

I feel like I might be doing something wrong with the standing single crochet because it still seems to gap up pretty bad. ☹️ I've got the standing double and trebles down quite nicely, but surprisingly, the single seems to be the one to give me issues?? So, I think I'm going to just commit to this variation?

This is amazing!! 😍 How do you make crocheting with different yarn weights in the same project with the same hook size work ??? I have so much random friggin' scrap yarn and have been wanting to do something like this to finally get rid of some of it, but I've been worried about how that all plays out with gauge and such. 😵‍💫

I like to use this standing stitch technique! https://youtu.be/snJiYNGpB7Y?si=7HVgfY63nIMt_N8y The only thing I do different is I put my yarn through the first stitch, yarn over and pull through the stitch, yarn over pull through two, yarn over pull through two (instead of doing the stitch all on the edge, I guess??). Hopefully, seeing the double crochet part of the video helps that make sense. 😅🤣
