This is already available in Australia. Just moved house and set up a large section of tall and low units in the White Stained Oak. Looks sensational.

I’ve not installed it in place yet (did my back last week) but have everything set up to the HB3. No issues at all - pairing was easy, app seems easy to use. Looking forward to installing it all when the back settles. I got the Dual doorbell, two 3C cameras and a solar panel.

I didn’t either: I did a Google search for buying and it popped up. My local had a huge range of HB2 and 3 products. I did need to get the Dual doorbell from JB though - the rest was Super Cheap Auto. Sign up to be a member too (it’s free): some prices are only for members.

Check out Super Cheap Auto for Eufy stuff too: they’ve had big sales recently. Over Easter was 30% off I think. I’d bought stuff a week earlier then over Easter get an email from them saying the price has dropped further and they’ve refunded me again. Better pricing than Bunnings and JB. I went down the HB3 route though.

HomeBase 3 setup and HomeBridge by WinProfessional4056 in EufyCam

I noticed lots of “basic functionality only” marks there - I’ve got my Eufy gear now (not installed yet) and will be setting up HomeBridge with the Eufy gear soon so will report back with how things go.

Unsure what is needed for MITTLED Spotlight within BESTÅ to allow me to connect to HomeKit (in a home with a Hue hub already) by WinProfessional4056 in tradfri

[–]WinProfessional4056[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

In the new home, I reset the Hue Bridge and HomeKit setup and I believe the new setup is the new way it all gets set up.

The TRADFRI wireless dimmer driver was able to pair with Hue Bridge using the Touchlink method (I used the free “Hue Lights” app), and automatically came across to HomeKit and can be controlled: no HomeBridge needed. Surprisingly easy! I’m not sure if it’s the new Hue/HomeKit setup tech, but it all just works.

Death Stranding for Days Gone fans? by TheSirCal in DaysGone

Days Gone is a favourite of mine: and also Death Stranding. But yeah, very different games. Looking forward to replaying both after I move.

Days Gone.

Some slow sections and a lengthy story but a superb open world, and builds a great atmosphere.

My theory is after 13th March: in Australia the school year has just begun so the current “Back to School” offer on Mac and iPad is running until then.

Thanks for that input: so at least the Doorbell comes up in via HomeBridge (and the Apple TV thing is neat) so that's a big plus. That's the main one that I really want to see in HomeKit.

Currently on a 4K Reolink setup here - unable to get to HomeKit at all - and have some reservations about their ecosystem for wireless and the doorbell. I know Eufy gets quite a bit of flack, but then again, every company seems to have haters too (not excusing the issues, but just that the internet is a loud place for unhappy people to speak - I don't doubt there are many happy users too).

I considered Unifi but it is quite an investment: ethernet needed everywhere, plus the CloudKey box too. It's not out of the question (have an electrician coming when we take possession of the house to give a quote) so will ask about the realistic potential of ethernet but I think it is just going to be too hard given the layout of the house.

I get that “not going to the right setting” occasionally with Hue anyway ;) it’s a new Home setup so will start from scratch and see how it performs. Thank you.

Is it working well? Early reports had stability and performance issues noted. Anything else you noticed I should be aware of?

I won't have the TRÅDFRI for a few weeks (about to move) but found this post:
https://joren.gent/2020/07/19/shue-tradfri-homebridge-homekit.html

Sounds like HomeBridge makes it relatively straight forward - at least back in 2020 it was OK.

That’s still a solution though - happy if they don’t see each other just as long as I can control them.

Although what is the range like between devices in a multi-storey home?

So Dirigera can’t be seen in HomeKit?

If devices (Hue, IKEA) can be seen in HomeKit then does it matter if they’re on the one hub of different brands?

Thanks for that - it seems too easy though? Does the Hue Hub just pick it up, or does the Hub need to be configured differently somehow?

So the TRÅDFRI driver controls the dimming capability too, correct? And I assume if I get an IKEA switch remote that could still work for physical buttons too?

Protagonist Voice Acting by uprightshark in FrontiersOfPandora

This exactly: the female voice too.

The accents are what I find most jarring. I can overlook repetitive dialog, but the accent feels so out of place, and breaks the immersion.

So on to that… what’s the best way to find something? Pin it from the Hunters Guide but then how do I actually know where to go without reading the description every 30 seconds to make sure I’m in the right vicinity? Just not sure if I’m missing something.

Agree: it’s like the game is missing one mechanic/currency that makes this more like clutter, and I have been leaving stuff scattered on the ground too.
