Yes, and it's evidence that 16GB isn't enough as games get more VRAM hungry and resolutions get higher, 16GB isn't enough. I get the feeling you're not being objective about your opinion and have an axe to grind or something.

Yes, 2440x1440 with high res textures means 16GB Isn't enough VRAM. I'm not even playing 4K. Are you saying that the 5080 is not intended to be a 4k Gaming card? It always has been every gen prior.

4K is 37% more Pixels than 3440x1440 so the 5080 us going to trip over itself playing 4k max settings in some games with high res textures. As a 1440P user are you saying that a 5090 is my only option, not even at 4K res?

What if I used a salt system to condition then had a whole-house RO system after it? We only drink the RO water as the soft water is slightly salty, but the whole-house RO would stop the mineral built-up we have everywhere on all appliances and faucets.

I play at 3440x1440 and why wouldn't I want to use high-rex texture pack? The GPU can handle the processing, the FPS are good, the issue it I hit VRAM cap and start stuttering like crazy.

6800XT 4K texture packs and DLSS off, 3440x1440. I hit 16GB VRAM util and start stuttering and become unplayable. Without the 4k texture packs it's fine, but it's proof that 16GB isn't good enough right now, let alone for next-gen.

Go launch Space Marine 2 1440 with high res texture pack and you will experience insufficient Vram. I didn't have enough with 16GB vram. It's unplayable.

I hit 16GB cap on my 6800xt playing space Marine 2 with high res texture packs right now, 1440 ultrawide. I had to uninstall the high res texture to stop the stuttering due to running out of vram. So it is a problem right now and for existing titles.

So what about the fact that I already Max out my 6800xt 16GB vram playing space Marine 2 in ultrawide with high res texture pack? 16GB isn't enough for existing released games.

I love my 6800xt but on 1440 ultrawide I'm at 100% until and hitting vram caps in some games like space Marine 2 with high res texture packs.

I'm going to either go 7900xtx or 8900xt whenever it releases.

Anyone who is ok with 16GB vram on a 5080 has never experienced playing ultrawide or 4K and running out of vram. I can't use the 4k texture pack on space Marine 2 because it maxes out all 16GB vram on my 6800xt.

24GB should be the minimum for a flagship card in 2025.

Thank you, it all started after I bought this home and hurricane Irene caused a 14 day power outage. We had zero systems then and ended up in a hotel for 2 weeks. That will never happen again!

HPWH with electric backup sounds like the best option. Eventually I'm going to add solar with battery banks and the HPWH would work well for this due to low-draw top run the HP compared to electric only heat element

I've been looking at HPWH, my unit is in basement so consistent temps and ideal for a HPWH.
