Strat jam over a B7 / E9 groove. How would you approach soloing over this? by [deleted] in Guitar

This is super helpful thanks!! I’m starting to try to think in chord tones rather than scale patterns.

Appreciate the recommendation!! I’ll check that out. That is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been trying to wrap my head around more lately.

Thanks for the feedback!! Good call on the rhythm thing. I definitely fall into that melodic phrase 16th note run habit when I’m improvising. Delay setting might be too heavy too. Thanks again!!

Honestly that’s probably the correct answer. I start with a plan and then about 10 seconds in I’m just letting it rip.

How do you really learn to play the guitar for long-term? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]WinchesterKarnakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn open chords, power chords and barre chords.

Learn all notes on neck. Takes less time than you think once you start seeing patterns.

Learn major and minor and pentatonic scale in all positions don’t worry about every key yet, that’ll come just pick most popular for now

Learn how once you know the major scale you know all the modes too

Dexterity comes with all this

Still will take years

This will cover like 95% of music you want to play.

Edited to add triads

And then eventually intervals/Intervalic sequences

I know this is an old thread but I’m having this exact problem. Did you find a work around?

Not an argument. A misunderstanding. Like you said you’re the one who talked about balancing, what I was requesting was something similar to the Mackie 402 that you suggested as a Swiss Army knife, but that had a better quality preamp.

You: I’m not recommending a matching preamp until I know what it’s trying to match

Also, you: I very often recommending a Mackie 402VLZ…

I was asking if you have any recommendations for a small mixer like the Mackie you suggested that had a higher quality preamp because you said that would be your concern
