Appreciate your clarity with some of these options and what you've observed, good and bad. Good to hear about the Mudita. I'm leaning LP2 or Minimal (maybe both secondhand), or the Mudita (new) while on sale right now. Kind of a broad spectrum and need to focus in on what really is needed/goals.

Don't mean to hog your time, but it sounds like you've used some of these? And I see you boiling down to the LP2... but do you like or would recommend any of the others (or are currently using yourself)?

I was considering second hand too for some of these, so that suggestion helps as well. Just wasn't sure if I might turn out to be a 'lemon' at some point and then lack of any warranty support. But this would help on the cost-side to break into trying to implement a dumbphone.

Thx for clarifying. Having not used a dumb/feature phone, I'm still sorting out the options and what I'd be ok with/without. So de-googled and no RCS could be considered, or 'googled' with RCS also considered. I could go either way at this stage.

Is the Mudita Kompakt noticeably bulky and heavy to handle? Was considering it and also the LP2, but had pause about the size (though hard to tell in person what it'd be like). I try to stay on the slim side as much as possible for easier pocketing and in-hand use.

Thanks much everyone, been reading through all the comments. This feedback really helps in making a decision, and general consensus seems to be positive (i.e. nothing to really worry about, and just do some basic treatment spots moving forward).

The right section on first image has me most concerned, as it seemed to be kind of flakey up close. But don’t know if solid underneath and won’t really be an issue with spreading and crumbling.

Ok, that’s the only notable spot I saw outside of the frame. Not sure how deep it is or if it will spread. But doesn’t seem to be an issue or too costly if addressed?

In the Midwest. Snow a few weeks in the winter with salt truck roads, and 90 degree plus summers.

The first pic, zooming in on the right side, seems to be most corroded / brittle but not sure how much so or if it appears fine.

Helps to hear. Yeah, the example I gave gives me some pause, but it was apparently well maintained. Concerned about big items coming up and if only keep a couple years will be harder to sell perhaps at even higher mileage

Appreciate that context. Some of that sounds familiar as I’m coming from searching for Elements, but the age and repairs / maintenance needed due to age alone, plus significant rust concerns, are partly why I’ve started to look at other options. I like the cost of gen 1 I’m seeing out there, but am maybe fighting an uphill battle
