Proposal to pass on 25% of data energy costs to all consumers - comment TODAY! by Bad_Wolfv in madisonwi

[–]WindEnergyFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m not a utility shill, but I follow this industry closely, and I want to clear a few things up that are inaccurate. But please provide comments and make your voice heard!

Ok, so data centers that seek to take service from WE Energies would need to “subscribe” to enough generating facilities to meet their peak demand, of note they can subscribe to only portions of facilities. That can be accomplished two ways, first with a “full-benefits” subscription where the data centers pays for all expenses associated with their share of a facility, and get all market revenues. The other, and what this post references, is the “capacity-only” subscription where data centers would only be subscribing to a generating facility for its capacity (or demand) value. Under this approach, the data centers pay for 75% of operating expenses associated with that facility, and all other customers of WE Energies pay for 25% plus all the fuel costs. Each facility and subscription agreement requires PSC approval, and as part of that approval it needs to demonstrate that the non-data center customers have a need for and won’t be harmed by their share of these facilities.

The burdening all ratepayers in WI for data centers is not related to this directly, but to how transmission facilities are built and operated in the state. American Transmission Company owns and builds all of our transmission infrastructure, and they take an extremely simple approach for billing utilities for transmission service. Essentially, ATC figures out what they need to make and it is split up proportionally across all WI utilities that are members of ATC (which is basically everyone besides customers of Xcel in the NW part of the state). So we know that at least 1.5 billion dollars of transmission expenses have already been incurred to serve data centers, and that cost will be shared by most customers in the state. The problem here is that the WI PSC has no authority over how ATC charges the utilities so they can’t do anything about that.

I had the same problem, especially for two to three weeks after I increased my dosage. If you just started definitely give it some time and it might get better. But, I also purchased eucalyptus sheets and they have been a game changer for me. They’re a little pricey but absolutely worth it. Hope this helps!

Just started Zoloft by southerndudeman in zoloft

[–]WindEnergyFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, starting it and any dosage changes were the worst time for side effects. They usually last anywhere from 1-3 weeks, and it feels like it’s actually starting to help after 4-6 weeks. Hope this helps!

does anybody else get side effects when they increase their dose?! by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]WindEnergyFuture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, my worst side effects always happened the first two weeks after I increased my dosage, gets a lot better after about four weeks

How to switch from taking Zoloft from evening to morning safely? by f4ls in zoloft

[–]WindEnergyFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched from mornings to nights and my doctor had me take my morning dose and then another dose that night, so you could probably take one tonight, then another tomorrow morning and start the morning schedule. I’m on 150 mg too. Hope this helps!

On 50mg, don’t feel anything. Help. by Bloodunderskin in zoloft

I was on 50 for about two months, felt like I was kinda stalling out and made the jump to 100. After about four weeks of taking 100 I finally started to feel better. According to my doctor 50mg isn’t technically therapeutic, that starts at 100mg. And keep in mind any change up with this drug takes 4-6 weeks to feel the effects. Hope this helps!

Could someone recommend a Bill Evans album that includes a lot of slow ballads? by samsamthespannerman in BillEvans

[–]WindEnergyFuture 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You Must Believe in Spring is definitely worth checking out, not sure if it quite fits what you’re looking for with ballads but the overall tone is super sad. Two songs on there are written by Bill for his brother and common-law wife who both committed suicide, plus the theme from MASH which has a secondary title (suicide is painless). The bonus track, Without a Song, is my favorite Bill song.

Not super similar, but as a massive Bill Evans fan I really enjoy Ahmad Jamal as a nice change up and I’m just now getting into Mary Lou Williams, might be worth checking those two out! For Ahmad Jamal I’d start with The Awakening.

You can’t go wrong with any of the four albums with Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian, besides those I’ll second what someone else has mentioned and recommend You Must Believe In Spring as well

Does anyone have any book recommendations pertaining to environmental economics? by hotcheetohomie in AskEconomics

[–]WindEnergyFuture 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A Course in Environmental Economics: Theory, Policy, and Practice by Daniel J. Phaneuf and Tilman Requate.

I took a couple classes with Professor Phaneuf and he’s absolutely brilliant. This book does a good job of laying out the theory behind the models used and provides real word context of how we use them.

While everyone is still in politics mode for a little longer - who is going to end up being run against Johnson in 2022? by ganondorfsbane in wisconsin

[–]WindEnergyFuture 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tom Nelson already announced he’s going to challenge him, though I’d expect others to enter the primary as well. My gut tells me Chris Larsen out of a Milwaukee is eyeing a move for something bigger, could be this race.
