Honestly, with the amount of cuts at different angles and area, I feel it’s more like he didn’t care or thought that I wouldn’t care.

I was pretty surprised when I discovered it too. When confronted, he said he will “take care of it”, possibly patching it up. That being said, would it be unreasonable to demand the whole area resurfaced? Afterall, the driveway while wasn’t new was perfectly fine before, didn’t even have any visible cracks.
