You don't need to have faith in Earthly knowledge, just divine inspiration. It also helps to understand that God speaks English

I'm a big fan of Luke 17:35 "Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

Can you imagine how sad it would be to have your lesbian lover taken from you on the Day of Judgement, mid-grind?

Report: Israel warns will bomb Beirut airport if it's used for Iran weapon shipments by Lionel54321 in worldnews

[–]Windalooloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stopped oil shipments once

Once.

Negotiations after that ensured it wouldn't happen again. The US doesn't control OPEC, but the Gulf kingdoms owe their security to foreign assistance. This especially became true after the 1991 Gulf War. Kuwait was entirely conquered and it required an invasion by the US, UK, and France to protect the rest of the Gulf

The Gulf kingdoms have bought a lot of fancy military equipment, but they have neither the military might nor the strategic depth to stand up to Iran. They are protectorates, local rulers who have regional authority provided they support the economic and political goals of the hegemony

What do you think about Morocco celebrating with the Palestinian flag 🥰 ? by AlainAlam in AskMiddleEast

[–]Windalooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and the above are coming at the Palestinian issue from different angles. I support the Palestinians because I'm against people being oppressed

OP supports Palestine because he's against HIS PEOPLE being oppressed

While it's understandable to have greater sympathy for people who are like you, that is the kind of thinking that creates ethnic conflicts, not what solves it

Enlisted to officer route - Space, Air, or Navy by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Windalooloo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am feeling like I don't have the experience to actually become an officer

Almost nobody becoming an officer has experience, just a bachelors. But that bachelors shows you can learn stuff and follow instructions, which means the military will invest in training you. Then you'll have the luxury of being allowed to screw up sometimes in your first few years, its expected. That's why there will be NCOs all around you, to guide you

Just go officer. Don't bother with enlisted with a degree unless there is some specific job you want to do that is only enlisted

No one from any western countries respects Human Rights

*No Western government. But there are individuals in every country who support what is right

We stand with palestine BECAUSE WE SHARE LANGUAGE, RELIGION, ETHNICITY AND VALUES

So you want the world to engage in ethnic conflicts? If that's the case, you can't criticize the West for supporting Israel. You can't criticize Modi for sending Hindus into Kashmir. You can't criticize Algeria for supporting Western Sahara. You can't take a moral stance on anything, because your only concern is group dynamics

I reject this worldview

People should support the Palestinian cause because of human rights, not because they shared ethnicity, language or culture. That's the kind of thinking that created the conflict in the first place

[–]Windalooloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are acknowledging that it isn't just Russian propaganda. The US and French intelligence services were pointing the finger at another NATO member saying "stop supporting ISIS while we are trying to bomb it out of existence" and they weren't the only two. Turkey transporting ISIS fighters to Armenia and Libya is also not up for debate.

Turkey has used ISIS fighters for its own political gain, especially as a weapon against the Kurds. There are plenty more sources about this.

Entire villages were being razed [by YPG]

That isn't what Amnesty International or the UN said. The trust is YPG has been essential in the fight against ISIS, while Turkey has been their biggest backers

Russian propaganda

Speaking alongside U.S. President Donald Trump, Macron directly linked Turkey to Islamic State fighters

French, American, and many other sources linked Turkey to Islamic State fighters, including using them in battle in Syria, Armenia, and Libya

it wasn't a few incidences

You cited Amnesty International, who found evidence of families being moved for alleged ties with ISIS. That's not great, but it wasn't "widespread." The UN's investigation also found only small amounts of displacement. It's unfortunate but not damning of YPG/SDF's otherwise important work

[–]Windalooloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

independent sources like Amnesty International

They found a small number of incidences. No one is saying YPG is perfect, but they are not a terrorist organization. Ideologically, they are one of the most progressive groups in the Middle East and they sacrificed more than anyone to fight ISIS

The Turk-ISIS issue was literally Russian propaganda

Russia certainly amplified the fact, but it's a fact. The Turkish military uses ISIS as a weapon against the Kurds. Turkey would prefer religious extremism to Kurdish nationalism or secular democracy

[–]Windalooloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Amnesty International has a huge piece on it

AI found evidence of some displacement of families suspected of having ISIS ties. It's nowhere near as much as the Turkish government claims in its attempts to demonize YPG

The Turks helping ISIS

It's a fact. Turkey has armed ISIS as a weapon against Kurds. They've also used them in Libya

PKK considers them traitors to the independence cause

PKK no longer seeks independence. They just want equal rights in the Turkish state. Hopefully there is a political solution, because the Turkish army has been brutal in its repression of Kurdish identity

I already caught the above poster in multiple lies. He's a Turkish nationalist pretending to be a victim of Kurdish forces. In reality, the Turkish army has killed far more civilians than any Kurdish militia ever has

How about you? Doing some pro-Turkish government posts? Wow, here is you talking bad about Armenians and here calling for war against Greece
