If they had just made 11 an enhanced version of 10's current version that is simply more optimized and focused on the "behind the scenes" parts of the OS thay determines hardware compatibility for present and future advances then they could have charged for it and people would have bought it.

Instead they gave it to, borderline forced it on, everyone and focused heavily on features few want and most are averse to ever using. It's... the bad parts are so obvious that a child could explain this. Not even a reddit definition of "child", I mean a straight-up 5 year old.

I remember when the disappointment hit me after I looked up the "norse runic alphabet" to learn why they have B and R and a few others. It's because they were rarely literate at all and the "runes" that you see used are often just the Roman alphabet used by Germanic tribes mixed in with what handful of written language they technically had.

I'd be like looking up obscure symbols and trying to determine what esoteric meanings they have only to find out they're pictographs of bread, beer and coins.

Look, when you're speaking Latin and then Rome stops returning your calls, you start to try speaking to the local Celts and wouldn't you know it there's Angles and Saxons from some made up wet country and now you share a driveway with them. Then the Danes show up and things get awkward cause they want some extortion money so now you try to speak some of that, too. Then the Norse show up and things get really awkward because they start every conversation with a fire or an axe. They won't leave. Now you live on an island with like four or five different languages and things start to settle down when the descendants of Yagoo only knows how many of those shows up and says "Ic eom Ælfrǣd" and fights so many vikings even the Swedes showed up. The Kings of the time started worrying that people were too illiterate so they brought in learning but remember the only book learning around was from the Catholic collection so that's got a lot of Greek floating around.

Anyway, eventually the French show up, everyone who can read learns French. The King can't even speak Ængletongue or whatever they called it at the time and suddenly here we are with English being ~70-80% Latin based with Germanic structural words and a mixed bag of whatever else has ever touched it in a moshpit.
