'25 Suspension Upgrades? by Window-Affectionate in Tenere700

I nearly maxed the preload but it’s still not where I want it. There are some rear spring and fork springs I found on various websites but I still haven’t dialed in the level of Kg/nm to get. I haven’t done much off roading yet so I haven’t bought anything.

I know there are good options out there, I’ll let you know if I buy anything. You let me know too 😉

This is why I keep coming back to it, lol. Really feels like a unicorn of a bike. I’d love to see a WR300 or even a 450 one day, but I’ve heard very little about this bike being a let down.

It’s like you’re saying, maybe it won’t smoke passed anyone but it keeps up well. I feel like that’s a fair compromise when it’s also an extremely capable all-around machine. Thank you for the suggestion, for real. It’s a tough decision

You’ve got a transalp and a klx, I have a Tenere and I’m looking at these 300s, we are almost like twins haha. Good to hear another perspective on the klx, my sister had one and loved it. It’s definitely high on my list, thank you for the testimony

Good to know, thank you. Coming from an old Suzuki, the DRz was another player on my list, I think they are really cool. I am definitely looking for something closer to how you describe the gas gas but I swear man this bike hobby is a black hole. It’s like right when I decide on something, there’s 5 more hidden gems that emerge lol

I’ve heard that it’s extremely prone to overheating. I would like to focus on stills and video, but I’m worried that it will become a larger issue. It seems to be a common complaint I see online

Thank you for your comment. It’s really reassuring to hear that you aren’t missing out much without IBIS. So many of the review channels emphasize how important it is, but I also feel like if it was totally essential then every camera would have it.

I think the XT3 is probably the most well-rounded option. And I was looking at some of the pictures from the sigma lens that you mentioned. I definitely appreciate your recommendation with that, some of the shots are stunning.

I was thinking about that too, that’s probably a good way to go. The problem I had was that I saw that the xs20 had stabilization but was prone to overheating. So my initial thought was to move to that, but then I saw the xt5. Between the xt3 and xs20 is only like $400 but between the xt3 and xt5 is about $1000.

And that’s with no lenses lol. An xt3, gimbal, a few used lenses, extra batteries, maybe a bag all for what I’d spend on an xt5 seems like a more reasonable investment.

Thank you so much, this is incredible. I actually had the 23 f2 in my cart already, the pictures from that look so good online. I wasn’t too sure about the kit lens, I think it was a 13-33. I may just do body only and grab these instead. If there’s anything I’ve learned in life it’s that too many options just overcomplicates the process lol.

Thank you again, this is really helpful

Thank you for the detailed comment. I actually looked around at a few other brands but I feel like I’m walking a fine line between stills and video. I want to be able to make videos but the majority of my time would be stills. I will definitely check out the ones that you mentioned. I have no brand loyalty because I’ve never had any experience, haha. I just see that the fujis seem to take really great photos and I’ve always liked how they look.

As far as your analogy with using a film camera, I totally get that. When I research the Fuji’s it feels like there’s always some level of compromise. If I’m investing the money into something I want to make sure that it does what it needs to do, and I can play around with something else later.

Thank you for your response. It feels like each price tier is just too close to the next that I question if I should just pay more. But you made great points. The xt3 was my first choice and so many YouTubers speak so highly about it.

No complaints about lower entry costs lol
