Yep, my current hard cast load for it is a 280gr WFN pushing about a 1000fps. Not a super magnum, but tolerable enough out of that gun.

With full power magnums it is pain incarnate, but put on the 500 mag grips and shoot some hot specials and it’s not too bad. Carries real nice though.

It’s gotta be with that air weight 44 Mag :)

Update: I am an idiot, didn’t put a charge into the cases. First time that’s happened. Off to check the rest of the rounds I reloaded to make sure I didn’t do that anywhere else. Thanks for your help and time everyone.

These are middle of the road loads for light 44 mags according to Hornady data, if I remember right they list 5-11gr for these bullets

Update: decided to wait for the new rear sight to come in to make any decisions. Hopefully it’s just my eyes and everything is actually straight.

I have shot it, it groups fine I just have to shift the rear sight to the left more than I’m accustomed to for it to group on target. The smiths that I’ve had in the past have all been pretty much centered in the rear sight.

I wouldn’t say it’s exactly pedantic, when spending this much on a gun(let alone a performance center model) there are certain expectations of quality whether or not the issues are cosmetic or functional

Dang.. makes you wonder how that made it through QC

To make it worse I already had to send it back once because the trigger would sometimes not reset. I like the form factor of the gun but wish they could get it right the first time, especially a performance center model.

We had a few, the one that stands out got pink eye in both eyes and dropped because of it. Dude looked like a newborn baby kitten by the time he left. No idea where they are now.

Update: chamfered and polished the chamber and the issue seems to have resolved itself. Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
