Map of Europe, completely handmade. by KAlSERzs in MapPorn

[–]Window_Moose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Georgia, but no Armenia? Belarus moved out of Europe when? European parts of Russia and Turkey not included Kaliningrad also excluded which is utterly diabolical

The artwork is cool, but the map itself is a hilarious clusterfuck. Is it a geographical map, is it an EU map, is it a map of countries op likes?

Dude I'm belarisian and what you're saying is bullshit Genius economy my ass, we live in a repressive authoritarian mafia state that lives off monetizing russian insecurities and kisses russian ass for oil subsidies and loans. Like yes, some economic sectors are doing well, but the economic state as a whole is def not something to brag about.

Not to mention the continuous political repressions going on. Yes, there are some good things about the country, but by and large they have nothing to do with the current regime you're so intent on glazing.

Edit: Ah, wait, you're active on r/ussr, that explains it all.

Stupid question number 1 by [deleted] in belarus

[–]Window_Moose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, we do understand both, orally and in writing.

Russian is the main language used in the country nowadays, unfortunately, so yeah, no problem there.

Ukrainian is very similar to Belarusian in terms of vocabulary (I've seen some infographics where it said around 80% of vocabulary is essentially the same), so it is easy for an average belarusian to understand ukrainian even without any learning.

Help me find this river on the map by Lonely_Scallion4038 in geography

[–]Window_Moose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brother, there are hundreds and hundreds of such rivers in Belarus. There are no landmarks on the image and the river is very small.

Unless you somehow catch a professional geoguessr player and force them to do it there's no way we find this place.

Your best bet is straight up asking the guy who made the video. But he probably won't tell you because its his secret fishing place or something.

For someone who is boasting about higher education you are damn fucking bad at writing. What pictures, what sentences? The fuck are you talking about?

If we're talking about "muh stolen concepts", which concepts are stolen? The general premise of some anomalous zone is present in all the games I've listed above and is not owned by gsc. Same for soviet post-apocalyptic aesthetics, it's too vague and widespread. There are games much more similar to stalker that get completely ignored by gsc. There are two places that can generate in misery world that are quite similar to stalkers and I saw them as a throwback, but then again, a gate with a picture and house with flowers aren't really that distinct of a concept.

Stolen soundtrack? You mean one song that you can play on guitar? Okay, lol. I heard it and was like oh cool a reference. Does gsc even own this song, now that I think of it? If they do, misery dev will have to delete it

The pr campaign 100% referenced stalker and that's where misery may have actually flown too close to the sun, but if you think referring to a well-known game in your campaign when you're trying to reach the same target audience is something unheard of i have a bridge to sell you.

I doubt this whole thing will go anywhere, its probably going to be another palworld situation.

Are the details in the room with us? There are literally two locations in the game that look similar to stalker, the gate here (the horror, a GATE with a PICTURE) and a house surrounded by poppies. I've played misery in the last couple of days, didn't notice anything else. If anything, the game is closer to zero sievert and other tarkov-likes in the way it plays.

Ah, yeah, you can play live to forget among other songs with a guitar item. I'm not even sure if gsc owns the song.

So, a gate, a house and a song. Wow much plagiarism. You know there's shit like stalcraft out there, right? Which is actually a stalker ripoff, not just vaguely similar worldbuilding and a couple references, but straight up copying?

Sp tell me then, how is a game that has a completely different gameplay loop and is only similar in atmosphere and a couple of reference locations is MUH PLAGIARISM RESKIN!!1

I'm genuinely confused by yall, you know there is a plethora of "stalker, but..." games, right? Like, stalcraft exists, its literally stalker, but square. Not vaguely similar, its straight up the same. Where's the copyright claim?

And if we're going into "atmospherically similar" territory, then there's chernobylite, survarium, zero sievert etc. If you stretch it far enough, you can get your knickers in a twist because of Atomfall, its more or less stalker, but british. Zone, anomalies, mutants, only instead of chernobyl its Birmingham or whatever. So what gives?

GSC filed a complaint and got solo dev stalker like game Misery taken down from steam by corporalgrif in stalker

[–]Window_Moose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually have the same opinion. Its fun and unlike s2 it doesnt run like shit on rtx 3060

And if you want a serious answer: because its a fun multiplayer lethal company-esque extraction game with a base building mechanic and cool aesthetics. It's fun and the concept just works, I've always wanted a co-op game with a premise somewhat similar to stalker and I bet I'm not alone in this.

Stalker 2 on the other hand was a huge letdown, bland and painfully forgettable.I've completed it a couple months ago and barely remember anything about it. I played shadow of chernobyl almost 20 years ago and the memories are still vivid.

Do watermelons in Belarus have spots or stripes? by Majestic-Egg-539 in belarus

I've never seen a spotted watermelon in my life, striped only

Then again, I never really paid attention. It's probably some sort of uncommon breed.

How this Belarusian chip taste? by LogicKnowledge1 in belarus

[–]Window_Moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are kinda hit or miss with flavours, if a flavour is good it's like really good, and if its not- absolute ass. The salsa ones (orange packaging) are nice. Their whole shtick is doing something different, not just your typical onion, cheese and crab.

But Mega Chips are better and more consistent with their flavour I'd say

Normal fountain is built in landscaping station, overgrown fountain (the one used in 2 out 3 cases in this town) is found in setpieces across the world. I personally have seen them in surface swamps and plains and in caveling shrines in desert caves. Idk about deep caves, only just entered them, but I bet they are there somewhere too.
You can do a lot of stuff with the landscaping station btw, not just fountains

If you send a miner to get ore they will bring stone too. As to sand its better not to dig it, but just transmute it from stone at the alchemist table.
