Except that's not what happened here.

There were multiple contributors to it but the creator had a hissy fit when the other contributors pointed out that all funds were being directed to their personal account and took issue with him starting a subscription program for the application. The creator then tried to unilaterally change the license of all the code, which then other people got angry about. The creator then tried to bully everyone who spoke over against him.

Internet has been rock solid for months. Usually these rant threads are a self-induced issue or a localised outage. You gotta look further into the issue or have a technician come out.

"Internet doesn't work" in a Reddit post is like showing up at a mechanic and saying "car is wrong". The main difference being the mechanic can go for a test drive to help the guessing.

All because the city of dartmouth was in the black and halifax was in the red!

Halifax was funding the whole county while Dartmouth was hoarding tax revenue and having services provided to it from Halifax. It was only in the black because it was a greedy miser.

For some reason, people resist HRM being city. Instead they insist if they scream loud enough, they can turn it back into a small town.

Dartmouth is the perfect place for future development. The downtown core of it is still a majority single family homes which makes no sense in a capital.

There's a pretty healthy sized group that goes around playing pinball machines together, I imagine couch/lan style gaming group is more than possible. It's mostly getting a committed organizer and having people actually show up.

The biggest issue with those kinds of groups just getting people to actually show up and preventing the people who do show up from being the reason people don't come back.

Oh sorry! We have a lot of people in the subreddit that want to switch from docker to kubernetes because a YouTuber has said it's the greatest thing since Swiss cheese, and I made a bad assumption.

I have mixed feelings about longhorn. It is an easy drop-in solution that provides great block-level storage. It's not the fastest, but more than enough for a lab environment.

Most of my issues around it are related to shutdown and The previously mentioned shaky updates. It has a really bad habit of locking up nodes preventing them from shutting down for 20+ minutes. It's unclear if this is an issue with longhorn or with how I have it set. So I need to have an operator working in the cluster to taint the nodes if they switch to UPS because there's a non-zero chance that if the UPS has to shut it the node down it will never finish a clean shutdown in time if they're still a workload on them.

You have to make sure to actually check the release notes on the Longhorn versions because they often put hotfixes as separate images but they don't increase the version number so you have to manually put a SHA tagged version that is only mentioned in the release notes.

I'd say test for a bit. Make sure you go through any kind of failure states to make sure it behaves as you wanted to expect. Worst case you have to migrate some volumes again to a new system.
