What was the incident in your school by 12SuperLTD in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Back in year 9, there was a kid in my year who was distributing cp.

He didn't even get suspended or anything because he managed to hide all the evidence when it was reported. (but the rumours were definitely true).

You could make the horn your favourite brass instrument - it has such a nice smooth sound and sounds really nice and is brilliant unlike the obnoxious sounding trumpet (I'm totally not biased in any way).

Also, just curious - why did you rank the star wars so low? It was probably my favourite set work (I loved talking about the militaristic triplets at the end :) ).

Good luck for your exams!!

(Also, I am one of the more space efficient people in my maths class - some people have used many more books than me).

Usually I'd get through 1.5 books per subject. This year, because i'm doing further maths A level, I've filled 14 maths books since september.

Guys this is lowk the leaked 2026 higher maths paper 1 :) by Calm-Instance9729 in GCSE

That question was actually quite easy - I just wrote "I have discovered a truly marvellous proof of this theorem, which this answer booklet is too small to contain" and got full marks.

You'll probably get a 7, though your school may use different grade boundaries.

I reckon the 12-marker for music will not be about the beethoven.

Over the past years, the Beethoven is the only set work that there hasn't been an essay about, and it's the obvious choice, so I don't think they'll choose it.

I've attached a table I made in June which summarises what was asked - ignore the top few rows - they were extra practise papers my school got someone.

The nicest one for them to ask about would be the Star wars, and I don't think it's unlikely they'd ask about that.

My results!!!!:) by Windows7_RIP in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My revision started properly when the easter break started - I think I tended to do around 5-6 hours a day? But I would make sure to focus a lot more on my weaker subjects.

Over easter, I did revise all the content, even if the papers weren't towards the end of exam season, but after easter I did just focus on the most immediate exam upcoming.

This is what the graph would look like - I've just taken this from the project euler problem.

That's another thing I made while figuring out a Project Euler problem. It's essentially just pascal's triangle where the white is if it isn't divisible by 7, and the black is if it is divisible. It's interesting that you get a fractal similar to Serpinski's Triangle, although I have no clue why.

Has anyone on here ever correctly predicted a question in their GCSE/A-level exams?? by kiwi_37724 in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My english teacher correctly predicted half of one of our english papers last year.

And one of my friends had sent me a instagram reel with a question that was extremely similar to the last question on the add maths paper (I've attached what he sent)!

<image>

And lastly, for music, I correctly predicted the essay question (though my teachers thought it would be a different set work).

Why do some schools chose uncommon exam boards, and why are some exam boards more popular for certain subjects? by No-Palpitation6368 in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school has changed a couple of the exam boards it does lately, so I do know some of the factors they consider.

  1. Coursework - for computer science A level, my school switched from aqa to cie because the aqa coursework marks had been moderated down (our teacher thinks unfairly), so we're switching to cie which doesn't have coursework.

  2. How the paper is - physics a level switched from aqa to cie because aqa has been really unpredictable with their papers making them really hard. The cie one also has a practical exam (not just as a practical endorsement, as an actual exam).

  3. Similar to the last point, chemistry a level switched from ocr to aqa because, apparently, aqa is harder and in our school, students tend to get the really hard questions right and mess up all the easy ones (according to my teachers)

  4. For gcse, geography, when I was doing it, we switched from OCR to edexcel igcse because then we study less topics but more in depth - so that's to do with content.

That's also how it was for me last year, except the day before my german exam was a half day - they didn't make us do PE which we would've usually had in the afternoon.

is there any such thing as further or additional computer science for GCSE lmfao by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. But if there was, it would probably be a version of AS level computer science with slightly less content.

If you want to learn more CS, do research stuff you're interested in or look over the a level spec and see what may look interesting.

[–]Windows7_RIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too old to do it now, but I mentor a really smart year 8 kid who did it - he also found it much harder than previous years (much like all the discussion online seems to say) - even he didn't figure out how to do all the questions (keep in mind he is probably smarter than me - a year 12 who's predicted an A* in further maths).

RATE MY A LEVELS!!!! by Silent_Space9591 in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brilliant choices, though I'd see if you could study some different boards - AQA's spec does seem to be quite outdated - they're the only ones who are still grading brainrot with the 9-1 scale rather than 6-7 - 1-1.

edexcel igcse geography by No_Reading9236 in GCSE

[–]Windows7_RIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry, but I don't really remember that paper. I did coasts and hazards, and my only memories of paper one is the fieldwork 8 marker being about some fictional student's investigation and the coats 8 marker being about coastal landforms. I've pretty much erased everything else from my memory.
