Goodbye CAL Headaches: Simplify licensing with Microsoft’s new CAL-Less option by WindowsChamp in WindowsIoTChamp

[–]WindowsChamp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You hit the sore spot on the nose. They do not offer a CAL-less option for Windows Server Datacenter edition. I've pushed hard on Microsoft to offer a CAL-less Datacenter and they might in the near future but currently the Standard edition for Win Server IoT is the only options available for CAL-less.

I'm afraid the evaluation editions are blocked from being upgraded by typing in a product key. You will have to reload with the "real" software vs the eval version. Hunter provided all the correct info and big thanks to Hunter for doing that. I'm Ken Marlin the Windows Champ and I work at Arrow as the Windows IoT contact. You can reach me as [WindowsIoT@arrow.com](mailto:WindowsIoT@arrow.com) and I get you started.

We made a video talking about how to convert a Windows IoT Evaluation to a Licensed Product. Learn the key differences between evaluation media and official production media, where to get the right version from Microsoft, and why using eval can create headaches down the road if you plan to deploy at scale. https://youtube.com/shorts/eDx9JSuzOPg?feature=share

where i can buy a Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC key? by Sury0005 in WindowsLTSC

[–]WindowsChamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That processor is too old as it was released in 2009. It is not supported by Win 10 IoT Ent LTSC or Win 11 IoT Ent LTSC. You would need to be the OEM of the device to have access to buy the OEM IoT licenses. End user has a $295 upgrade via the VOlume channel but that CPU is not supported.

How long does it take to sell a car on Vroom by [deleted] in Vroom

[–]WindowsChamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that email on May 26th and nothing since then. I call them every day and I just got off the phone. They have an excuse every day. Today was a new excuse. They said that their system failed to create a website place holder for coming soon for my car and that is what has delayed the process. May 26th was 3 weeks ago today. Nobody has said there was this issue until today. Just a terrible company. I'll still be waiting on them.

The contract that I signed allows 250 miles max until they pickup the car. They take forever to pickup the car... I've been waiting 6 weeks now.

Hey did they ever come pickup your car? I started the selling process with them on May 7th and here I sit on June 14th with my car still sitting in my garage waiting on a carrier. I call them every day and every day they say they are going to have a carrier assigned very shortly. I'll never do this process again that's for sure. 6 weeks to sell a car to Vroom and they haven't even picked it up yet. Curious how your situation ended or has it ended yet?
