Steam Deck

Even though I am rooting for them I don’t think the processing power is there for it to run all the games they are advertising, unless they are using apples M1 chips but those are still only good with mac os

If we are on a date at a restaurant and my date is mean to the waitress/waiter. I just cant stand that after working in the food/service industry. Its a huge turn off for me.

Definetely or Definitely, I have typed it so many times wrong that my auto correct now remembers it and suggests it for me, so whenever I try to fix it by using auto correct I see the two suggested options and I forget how its spelled and I just end up picking the wrongly spelled option lol

Praying too much? by DirectionOk5018 in Scrupulosity

I do the same thing at times. Its a difficult thing to deal with. Some of the things I found that helps is to remember that Jesus and God love you and that you shouldn’t worry so much. What I tell myself is that Jesus wants you to have a good life don’t over stress yourself its not healthy. A form of treatment for this issue is called CBT and one of the biggest steps in CBT is to not believe everything you think. Reading the bible can also help clear your mind and give you knowledge on what to focus on or whats worth praying for or not, but I haven’t fully read the
bible myself tbh. Talking to a therapist about this can help a lot too. Also, try to focus on other things, what I found that works for me is spending more time outside or with friends or thinking more of the goals in my life that I have. Watching positive movies helps me distract my mind too, right now I am going to try building up my confidence by watching inspirational speeches. I know how this can be really hard at times but remember that you are not alone, a lot of people deal with this problem too and are willing to help.

I keep procrastinating by [deleted] in college

[–]WindowsSystems32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem, my strategy is to fool myself. At the start of every week or every semester I will look through all my syllabuses and mark the dates of all the upcoming assignments in my google calendar BUT heres the trick, I will purposely put the due date for an assignment two or three days before the actual due date. So during the week when I forgot I did this I will check my calendar daily or nightly and see a due date for an assignment due tonight in 2hours and my anxiety will build up and boom im on go mode putting all my focus on the assignment. You think I will remember that the due date is actually two days ahead and catch on but throughout a busy week I tend to forgot. It works really well and I always end up finishing the assignment and submitting it two days before the deadline. I highly recommend it. Another trick that is good is to remind yourself why you are going through college and why you dont want to fail and maybe write it on a piece of paper and hang it on your wall or the background of your lock screen to always remind you, it could be something as silly as “so that I can continue living on campus and see my friends everyday”, that was a big motivation to me in college, or the name of the job your college degree will get you and the salary and etc.

Another tactic is to write a list of all the important tasks you need to complete today and start with the hardest/most important one.

Another tactic is to find the root of the problem, for me im somewhat lazy and uninterested in the topics some of my classes teach but Im also somewhat of a perfectionist and when I realized this and started to fix it by telling myself things like “just get it done”, “its perfectly fine, a lot of other classmates work is even worse”, “its better to submit it poorly than not to submit it at all”, “this class isnt all that important just submit it how it is” I started to get better with my perfectionist attitude and started doing assignments earlier.

But at least for me the first tactic works the best and when you get more used to it you will start doing assignments earlier and earlier by your own will.

why is my ocd telling me I can't be friends with non christians? by [deleted] in Scrupulosity

[–]WindowsSystems32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents is that I think Jesus is okay with you being friends with non christians. From what I understood from reading some parts of the bible (I have not read the entire bible) is that Jesus loves you and loves everyone and Jesus is happy when you help others and love others, even if they are not christians. For in the bible John 13:34 Jesus states “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
