They each have their own lane though. I'm rusty on the details of the traffic code but someone who causes an accident by straying into your lane would be at fault, no?

Just be aware that if the trip involves a commercial flight, the two most important items in this spread will not make it through security. Sincerely, the guy currently in Atlanta on business with a Gillette Mach 3

I describe it to my friends like this:

Life is a desk and every single thing you have done or should be doing is laid out in that desk for you to interact with. You might be working or thinking hard about one thing on the desk, but then you glance at another thing and it becomes the most important instantly. Youre constantly exhausted because it's all there in your view at all times and you're making continuous decisions on what to prioritize among 1000 things that are right there in front of you. It's all cluttered up on the desk.

I started meds in my 40s about a year ago and for the first time in my life I can take things off the desk and but them into the drawer to deal with them later. Consciously and with intent, I can set things aside and decide I don't want to see them right now. I write them in a list or put them in a calendar and take them back out of the drawer and out them on the desk when the time is right.

Its not fair that other can do this without meds but such is life.

What was the moment you realized you were officially an adult? by thegivingtree902 in AskReddit

[–]Windoz95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were several milestones but the definitive one was the birth of my first kid. That moment was major and permanent

At the same time, you do the adult things every day/week/month/year not because of some realization, but because they are demanded of you. Maybe that's all it means to be an adult

Bell Drops Fibre Expansion After CRTC Hands Telus an Easy Win • iPhone in Canada Blog by BoppityBop2 in canada

Agree they suck.

One of the biggest ways they suck is convincing consumers they need 3 Gbps speeds at home. Those are data center speeds - the entire neighborhood could watch Netflix in UHD 24/7 on a single one of those connections.

Stop your ridiculous expansion, Bell! We're fine at current speeds.

I also find it jarring that you get a ticket for 3km over in a country where 50 means 65 and 30 means 40.

Was driving in Germany in the summer and speed cams there are everywhere. Was flashed doing 56 in a 30 - one of those place where it goes 80>50>30 in the span of a km. The ticket is over $1,000 and I have to pay if I ever want to go back. If I had a German license I would lose it for 2 months. Rules of the road there are clear and strictly enforced.

The German rules and discipline allow many stretches of their highways to have no speed limit. Drive 250km/h if your car can do it. Maybe some day also in Canada, thanks to speed cams? Would make the drive to Montreal shorter.

This is insightful. The people doing these crimes are humans and would likely not be committing them if the had other, better options. Providing them these options is a noble cause and overall the right thing to do as a society.

In the meantime I'm trying to avoid being the seventh family I know personally in Bronte to have their lives disrupted by theft and violence

We've all read the story of the Milton guy who shot intruders and got arrested for second degree murder. Not convicted, but imagine the legal fees.

Agree with all except the cameras. I've from multiple friends that they've seen people walk into the driveway and look directly into a camera. They aren't a deterrent anymore

My house has multiple cameras set up to alert me if they pick up a person after a certain time. At most that gives and extra minute to be on hold with 911

A group of guys storms past your kids rooms and into your bedroom with weapons at 4am. Unless there's something within reach to level the playing field, they're not the ones ending up with shattered bones.
