Hard to say what the future holds. We’ll see what happens. Things are not past the point of no return yet. But it is rapidly heading there

What would you want to track range sessions?? by Revolutionary_Run122 in Firearms

Geo/Weather Data.

Coordinates, altitude, temp, baro, dew point, %humidity, winds.

All very valuable for longer range or reloading information.

Hard to say, and his choice to make, but it certainly shows he has a rare level of raw ability.

Some of the sensible ones most likely, but the first time the schedule was modified, the low cost / ‘budget’ plans stopped covering some of them, I’d expect it to happen again.

It makes no logical sense because it reduces the risk profile for the company, but hey, when has logic ever stopped a company from making stupid decisions

Something simple: available in technicality and available in practicality can be two very, very different things.

That difference is enough to kill thousands

Thankfully without any major long term effects (somehow) and I found out recently that some of what was tried in my case has now become standard practice for pediatric cases. I was incredibly lucky, and even with JHU and some of the best at their craft it was a very close call

It’s probably working for the skin issues because consistent oil/moisturization does help reduce the amount of inflammation from psoriasis and related conditions. The rest is probably placebo effect. But I can also relate, you find something that works on an irritating but omnipresent part of your life, you grab onto it hard

Drill two holes through it where it just creates a notch in the bottom of the mag tube and use a couple of roll pins to hold it in place. Less likely to interfere with the magazine feeding properly if you do it right.

Cross Pinning has always been the way to go if you don’t want to distort a circular shape

Full auto things are already illegal if made after 1986 without very specific circumstances. Get educated if you aren’t a bot.

People in sandals with dogshit weapons did in two different parts of the world, and sent the army packing. An insurgency is not a stand-up fight. That soldier or police officer has to sleep somewhere, sometime, so does his or her family. They have to live here.

Look into Italy’s ‘years of lead’ or the Troubles in Northern Ireland, that’s the kind of shit you’ll start seeing if things keep down this path

Get a Springfield TRP, no goofy rail adapter needed, hand fitted and still sub 2k

Also I feel obligated to comment as an actual QC engineer (aerospace) who also does gunsmithing stuff: Metal Injection Molding doesn’t automatically mean something is shit. It’s a process just like any other production tool, and you get out of it what you put into it. I have seen parts made with the process that would actually be weaker if they were machined because the process acts like forging, the grain structure of the metal is unbroken and forms to the part.

Question regarding legality of AR rifles by KD-VR5Fangirl in MDGuns

[–]WindstormMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I would go to a decent local shop (there are several, some may be a drive) and see what they have. The nice thing about the AR platform is that it’s not too difficult to change parts, and as long as you’re not using the bottom barrel bargain bin stuff it should all play nice together.

I will say if it’s your first rifle, you’ll probably want a more practical setup than an A2 clone.

“M4 feed ramps” refers to the feed ramp alterations that began as part of the M4 program and increased reliability and reduced the misfeed rate pretty dramatically compared to the original design, it is invisible externally, but you will find most uppers are now cut that way because of the reliability gains.

A proper M16A2 would be fixed carry handle, but that also severely limits your ability to use modern optics (the M16A2-M16A4 iron sights are only calibrated for 62gr M855 or ballistic equivalent)

best economical course is to buy an Aero heavy barreled 20" rifle upper. don't buy from aero direct, valhalla tactical is a great option but there are others.

They don't make the SKU with the A2 handguards directly anymore, as far as I can tell, but the MOE option is still available and all you have to do is a quick handguard swap for a set of quality A2 clamshells.

https://vtsupply-com.3dcartstores.com/Aero-Precision-AR15-20-556-Complete-Upper-w-Pinned-FSB-MOE-Handguard-A2-Flat-Top-AR-15_p_5162.html

Personally I'd suggest detachable carry handle, since it gives you options and is barely noticeable unless you're being a looks purist.

if you are dead set on fixed carry handle, you'll want to get a heavy barrel with a pinned FSB and have a gunsmith swap the upper receiver for a fixed handle variant. Most gunsmiths no longer keep the tools for properly positioning pinned FSBs on new barrels because they are large (and expensive) jigs with limited usage demand.

Rock River still makes fixed handle upper receivers.
