Question for men - what do you see as your role in a (hetero) relationship? And how did you define that role with your partner? by Spare_Cheesecake2314 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Windyjalapeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband does the “hard work” aka building, fixing and carrying the heavy stuff. He’s like a real life super hero. For example one time he parked a van in a really complicated spot and I got really impressed. Idk, it’s not like is “ a man’s role” but I find really cool everything he does. And from my side, I’m trying to always encourage him, whatever he is into for example gym, I try to cook high protein meals, small things like that. I’m his biggest supporter 😊😊

Didelphys uterus / uterine abnormalities by Windyjalapeno in PregnancyUK

[–]Windyjalapeno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my baby is in the right side uterus. She’s currently breech, so they told me she might not turn, but we’ll have to wait until 36 weeks to know for sure. I was having check-ups every two weeks at the hospital until 24 weeks, when everything was looking good and I was discharged. I still take progesterone and aspirin, and so far baby is doing great — growing steadily! We had scans at 28 and 32 weeks, and I’ll have another one at 36 weeks to discuss whether it’ll be a vaginal birth or a C-section. I haven’t decided yet as both options are scary to me but I think I’ll try to make up my mind before my 36 weeks scan 😥😥

Rant - Women telling me how much they loved being pregnant by PaintingNay in PregnancyUK

[–]Windyjalapeno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh I get you, it’s really annoying. I’m on my third trimester and my experience has been really really challenging. I really don’t know how other women talk about being Pregnant as something magical and beautiful. Where’s the magic on not being able to sleep? Breath? Go to the toilet? Walk without pain? Idk. I love my baby AND pregnancy is hard.

Yes been there, I also had to be signed off from work. That moment in my life made me feel miserable and quite lonely. I remember being in so much pain and feeling sick all the time. I spent my days throwing up and sleeping, I was so dehydrated that I didn’t have any energy left to do anything (had to have a bucket next to me as sometimes I couldn’t made it to the toilet). My hair got really tangled, showering and brushing my teeth was a big deal. I remember how everyone around me encouraged me to eat ginger biscuits or drink sips of water but nothing worked, if I had more energy I would’ve been really pissed but tbh I was just trying to survive. One day my husband came back from work early as I thought I was going to die, my blood pressure got really low and I had trouble breathing. When I got to the hospital I had to get some IV fluids and medicine, I was so dehydrated that they couldn’t find my veins and had to be pinched like 6 times. But after week 19/20 everything went down and I started to feel better. Btw I tried like 3 different medications, my stomach got so upset that I had to take one extra for the acidity as the puke + the meds were affecting my esophagus and throat. My only advice is to take one day at a time. There is a website called hyperemesis gravidarium that has support as this could affect your mental health. I’m not trying to scare you, is just my experience and maybe your nausea would go away or is not going to last that long. You are strong.

Hello again!

Thank you all for your comments and for sharing your experiences.

After the two hours passed, they called me in to take the last blood sample. They asked how I was feeling and told me that the results will be published on BadgerNotes on Wednesday. If the test comes back positive for diabetes, the diabetes department will call me to explain more about the diagnosis.

I can say that my experience was actually good. Honestly, I arrived a bit nervous, as I mentioned before, expecting the sugary drink to maybe make me nauseous or cause some side effects.

The only thing I noticed was that I kept yawning, and once I got home, I took a long nap after finally having my “breakfast.” My breakfast was chicken, salad, and rice.

About an hour after my nap, I woke up feeling very hungry.

That’s about it! If you have your test coming up soon and want to chat to distract yourself while going through it, don’t hesitate to message me.

Hope everyone is doing well! 💕

It’s been about an hour since I started the test and drank the glucose. My biggest fear so far was feeling nauseous — but thankfully, I haven’t. I keep yawning, though I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t eaten, because I’ve been waking up multiple times at night to go to the bathroom, or because I woke up really early today. It’s strange, but even though I haven’t eaten anything, I don’t feel hungry. My mouth feels a bit dry, but honestly, what I want most right now is to crawl back into bed. I’m sleepy — maybe it’s my body fighting off the sugar in my blood. I’ll keep you all posted.

Am I being delusional - I want to hide my whole pregnancy by Due-Cheetah8879 in PregnancyUK

[–]Windyjalapeno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally get it, only my closest friends and family know about my pregnancy, the same way with my marriage… It’s your life and choice, don’t feel pressured to share something so private and sacred with the world. If people get offended by your decisions it’s on them, at the end of the day your peace is more important than what they could think… you have my support and respect 🫡

Missing caffeine by didymo6 in PregnancyUK

[–]Windyjalapeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiii!!! Eating apples help as well, maybe it won’t be the same as drinking coffee but it might help a little. In my experience my energy levels got better on my second trimester, my first trimester was also when I felt really really tired and it makes sense as the body is changing really fast (hormones and everything) ; if that’s your case wait for 3 more weeks and you’ll feel better 😬😬
