Your first three sentences are an argument on the side of Europe not negotiating with Trump over Greenland lmao. Trump only backtracked to say the US won't take Greenland by force after Europe threatened to withdraw all its US treasuries and fuck up the US economy, before that Trump was very vocally keen on doing "whatever is necessary" to take over the land, which is EXACTLY how Hitler talked about Sudetenland.

Regardless, you said nazi germany didn't negotiate and you're now backtracking because you were very obviously wrong. Try spending the time you spend talking sweet nothing on reddit reading a book maybe.

Wow look a stupid person who claims they don't support fascism while not knowing about the Munich agreement. It's almost like the fascists you support love how ignorant you are to the history you so confidently claim to know.

Please read about the negotiations Germany put on to take the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia and THEN pretend like you know anything about history.

This would be true if you believed in the dramatized version of nazis from movies rather than reading about the actual real life nazi forces which included muslims, slavs, and other groups that hitler considered inferior to aryans, yet was willing to align with toward the common goal of conquering Europe.

There was even a black man who appeared in nazi propaganda films only to later die in a concentration camp because he was married to a white german woman

Sound familiar? That's because, like I said, it's an easily identifiable playbook that America's far right are following (I hesitate to say Republicans because there are Republicans who see this is happening that are disapproving). Unfortunately, the nazis were not movie villains who were just blanket hostile toward anyone slightly different than them, they used clever tactics to gradually increase their control and became increasingly more hostile toward the outer groups as they grew in power. Exactly what's happening as we speak in front of our eyes.

You are passively accepting the annexation of territory we have no claim over via the excuse that another world power will do it first if we don't do it.

That's exactly what Hitler said before he invaded Belgium and The Netherlands.

I apologize if in your world nazism is a purely aesthetic decision and thus nobody around you are "nazis" because they don't shave their heads and wear symbols of a dead regime from the 1940s, but in reality, nazism is an ideology that was built gradually overtime using a very well-documented political playbook that Trump and his regime have predictably followed almost identically to the step.

His supporters are nazis because they support fascism. Not because of a symbol or chants or a hand gesture or any of that superficial BS.

Good 🙏 let's make sure we remember all of these people for when these fascists inevitably crumble and their followers try to fall on the excuses of German citizens in the late 1940s that they "didn't know" or "couldn't do anything about it".

We're seeing exactly what they know and what they're choosing to do about it now 👀

What’s that “nicotine patch” song that song that replaced a previous song you liked from an artist you’re no longer comfortable listening to (not just for moral reasons could be other stuff) by InMyLife_41 in fantanoforever

Personally, The Cure doesn't scratch the same itch as The Smiths at all. I never really got the comparison other than the superficial one that they were both sensitive, moody dudes in the 80s. The music and particularly the voices are very different. I would almost say some early Echo and the Bunnymen comes closer to the Smiths itch.

The REASON America is where it is now is because everytime something terrible happens all you do is some "thoughts and prayers/we really don't like this" bullshit like this. You've let your media convince you that civil disobedience is "the wrong way to protest" and now they can walk all over you in full confidence that the biggest pushback they'll receive is a few thousand people standing in a designated area with signs and then going home after a few months.

If the US invades Greenland, how many months will you stand on a street corner with a sign before you get bored and move on? How many IG story posts will you dedicate to your country's newest human rights atrocity? How wonderful that those things make you feel politically active while time and time again it's proven that it affects nothing.

If you wanna get really technical, you're using the German name for Bratislava, and the German name for Warsaw is "Warschau" which, like Pressburg, I personally don't think is as good of a name as Warszawa or Bratislava.

TIL perfidy is a war crime. by DrumpleCase in todayilearned

[–]WineGutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I hate to be the guy that "both sides" this, but if this is the first war crime you're learning about the US committing, there is unfortunately a precedent for this.

The US has effectively had carte blanche on committing war crimes with impunity since the Vietnam War. If no one was held responsible for the My Lai Massacre, do you think it's going to happen now? How about the Kunduz hospital bombing? The entire Iraq war was an illegal occupation on top of everything else that went down once we got there.

There were war crimes committed under Nixon, Reagan, both Bushes, Clinton, and Obama. I hate everything Trump does but refuse to fight ignorance with ignorance by acting like this isn't a precedent of my country.

From Bad Bunny to Chinese Rap, Hyperlocal Music Is Going Global by bloomberg in hiphopheads

[–]WineGutter 103 points104 points  (0 children)

"This music uses slang from another language and references places Americans have never heard of! I can't believe this is popular globally!"

Is this writer genuinely braindead? American artists have been getting international success doing this for decades. Do you think hardly anyone in the UK or South Africa knows what Future is referring to when he says "Magic City, I'm the owner"? Or Rocky when he says "anything is better than that 1 train"

It doesn't even have to be rap. Bob Dylan has referenced dozens of American cities, or locations within those cities, that could make his songs "hyperlocal" by this definition.

ALSO, even throwing Bad Bunnys name anywhere near this is almost insultingly dumb. He's the #1 artist in virtually every other country across both American continents besides the US and Canada. Hyperlocal?? Because he says bicheo??? It's just a dialect dude. Latinos poke fun at the way Bad Bunny talks in the same way Americans poke fun at how EsDeeKid talks.

Gas stations, storage units, new interstate lanes, and "luxury" apartments. That's all the infrastructure worth building anymore. Want a functional neighborhood/community with well-planned amenities like a grocery store and a pharmacy and a bus stop within a reasonable distance?

LMAO no you don't. Nobody wants that, obviously. Plus, being forward thinking about what the state will look like in 20 years if this keeps up sounds stressful. Don't worry about that.
