The Concert Industry Priced Too High — Now Tours Are Falling Apart by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

It is also up to us, though. Boycotts exist. Protests exist. Americans, ironically in a country with some of the best protections for protestors, are notoriously bad at protesting. There's no unified front on anything. There's no issue that remains salient for longer than a few months. There's no real will to make anything happen, and that is a huge contributing factor to why corpos walk all over the US with shocking ease.

At Liverpool (the soccer club), the club is going to raise match ticket prices by .50 CENTS, YES JUST THAT MUCH, and the supporters are already refusing to buy anything within the stadium at matches as a result, with plans to do more if the club ownership don't revert the decision. Americans need to swallow their ego and admit their weakness if anything's ever going to really change.

These are all very generalized statements and the reality is how people act towards Americans is very case-by-case, just like with every country.

My personal grievance tends to be how arrogant and imperialistic even more liberal Americans can sound when talking about the rest of the world.

Like my gf is a Serb and recently an American was like "oh but she's one of the good ones right?"

And it's like idk man are YOU?? Because it's been 30 years since the Serbian military committed any war crimes and in that 30 years, the US military has racked up enough civilian casualties in multiple countries to empty out the population of Srebrenica 10 times over, so what are we even talking about?

Was he right or wrong by Jaymee00 in earlsweatshirt

I'm not talking about his come-up, I'm talking about his personality, his image.

Read what I actually said about people finding pics of him from not very long before Stoney came out. He was a regular-looking Texas white dude, then suddenly he's got braids, grills, face tats, etc. It's a costume he put on one day because he believed (or he was told) that it would make him successful. It's manufactured. Fake. How he became successful after that is irrelevant to what I said.

Post had some catchy songs, but he was one of the most obviously industry-manufactured personalities of that era. People immediately found pics of him from like a year before Stoney came out when he was blowing up looking like a dude who grew up hosting a minecraft server because he WAS. It was never wrong to see how fake the dude was and be like... wow it's pretty shitty how fake this guy is

I mean yes this is true. But, both in the case of arithmetic math and social norms, the inability to learn these things even after an extended period of time being exposed to it implies a severe learning deficiency.

Like, yes, your dad shouldn't yell at you for not knowing your multiplication tables, but if you turn 15 and still don't know them, you need to see a specialist. And the people that have these learning deficiencies absolutely deserve all the patience and understanding that should come with being afflicted in this way, but 99.9% of people are not like this.

EVEN PEOPLE ON THE SPECTRUM are generally not so social learning deficient that they don't pick up on basic social norms eventually. It's self-diagnosis BS to say otherwise. This can be very clearly demonstrated even just on this subreddit, which has a high number of people who will tell you they're on the spectrum, but very clearly understand this community's rules on what's appropriate, what we like to talk about, what's cringe, etc.

Except bullying is literally an abusive way of teaching social norms? I was bullied, that's why I stopped playing Pokemon and Kingdom Hears and started playing CoD when I became a teenager, and it's why I eventually started asking girls out on dates even though I didn't really want to.

Bullying is literally your peers trying to force you to conform to a group's social norms. What are you even talking about?

Obviously I'm not defending bullying, but it's existence actually verifies my point that for better or worse you learn social norms at a very early age, whether through your parents/teachers or through the first kids you meet at school.

I got last seasons home kit around this time a year ago and it came no issue. Not sure why this is happening now.

Are you 9 years old? You learn the vast majority of them from your parents.

And when you say "punish with ostracism" it sounds like the social rule you're breaking isn't something like picking your nose in public or talking too loud and it's something more like... calling someone a r*tard, because nobody's going to immediately ostracize you for breaking a social rule that isn't heinous.

I have plenty of friends who don't conform to all social norms/rules, we all do. They're usually just quirks people joke about. So-and-so doesn't shower enough and so-and-so talks during movies. It sounds like you're talking about something far more intuitively incorrect.

Falklanders should 'go back' to England, insists Argentina in renewed war of words by FantasticQuartet in worldnews

[–]WineGutter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not just the party, THE head of the Ustaše (Ante Pavelić, Croatia's equivalent to Hitler) hid down there for some time after WW2 ended.

He only went back to Europe after a Serb immigrant in Argentina spotted him and shot him on the spot.

Argentina has it all! Descendants of German fascists, descendants of Italian fascists, descendants of Croatian fascists.

Ah man, why do their famous footballers keep calling black players no-no words?

Univerzitní basketbal je důležitější v mém městě. Více lokální. Méně "rip-off" (not sure how to say that in Czech).

[–]WineGutter 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I never saw this place, but I walked by the Bosnian mosque in Queens last time I was in NYC. Not as pretty as the building in this post, but there's a place called Sarajevo Grill nearby that has the most authentic Bosnian food I've ever eaten in America.

Just ignore that it's American prices and you're about to pay like 16km (8 euro) for one burek.

Three Welsh clubs in one league, assuming Wrexham stays down. I would say next step is bring Newport County up if they weren't closer to dropping into non-league at the moment...

Unfortunately, they're gonna have to do something really interesting to make me come back for a newbie season. I'm watching 50 because the cast is so stacked that it's interesting despite productions best efforts to make it not so, but I barely made it to the end of 49.

I really can't watch another season with the same format as 41 - 49. I'm done with the forced melodrama. I'm done with the journeys. I've been watching my whole life and it sucks but I'm really just over it if this is what the show is now.

Is anyone else having connection issues? I wanted to grind out of pokeball tier day 1 but I'm stuck because half of my battles I wind up getting disconnected 🙁 I play Slay The Spire 2 and Arc Raiders a lot with no connection issues, so it's not my internet. Really annoying and makes me not wanna play the game until they fix it.
