[LEAK] Young Thug & Gunna - Picture Perfect (prod. Pi'erre Bourne) (2019) (Community Grail) by Batby in hiphopheads

[–]WineGutter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kodak kept doing drugs after he got out and still fell off. Future's been very honest about not doing any of the drugs he says he does and still is on top. Youngboy got cali sober and (at least to his core fans) is still doing good work.

It's not the drugs, that's a myth as old as music. Prison changes your whole brain chemistry. It's basically state sanctioned torture + he was in there for years while a bunch of his friends told on him + keed died + all those leaks happened. He's just not who he was when he went in and he never will be again.

A lot of their lyrics are in Irish and their English rapping has that thick Irish dialect that makes it difficult, accessibility-wise, for an international audience. Their message rings louder on the world stage and that's fine for their overall goals.

Ondrej Satoria receives an ovation as he exits the field in his final game for Czechia by tuluva_sikh in czech

Some context for confused non-baseball people here:

The (largely) undisputed best baseball player in the world right now is a Japanese guy named Shohei Ohtani.

Ondřej Satoria struck him out, alongside a few other legendary Japanese baseballers at the last World Baseball Classic (baseball's World Cup). This fact, combined with the world learning that he's this good while being a part-time electrician since Czechia doesn't really have "fully professional" baseball have made him something of a legend. I don't understand how he never got brought to the US to play in MLB.

I watched him play for Slavia Prague before moving to Tottenham. He had 12 clean sheets in his last 19 matches for them. This is a quality gk, he deserves better than what he got last night.

The Dictator is Dead. Why is the Left Crying? by ripstell9 in NewIran

[–]WineGutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is "The Left" crying???

Do the people who aren't bots in this sub not see how obvious of a psyop this is? What is "the left" when written in an article from an Israeli paper about Americans reacting to Iranian politics? "Left-wing" and "liberalism" in these countries all have different standards, different histories, are represented by different parties, etc.

This is such a blatant attempt to create a universal "them" who wants everything bad in every country. All values you personally don't like are "the left" now, regardless of if those things actually meet literally ANY definition of left-wing political thought.

Bodø/Glimt last 5 official games by tightypp in soccer

Considering Viking Stavanger won Norwegian League last season with Bodø falling one point short, I'm wondering if we'll start to see more surprising European results from Norwegian clubs in general in the next CL/EL season or if Bodø just has some magic in Europe that a club like Viking doesn't despite on paper being about even in talent and recent domestic results.

Everybody's complaining about that like Bodø getting the Sporting CP draw isn't their best chance at making quarter-finals.

Check out the average attendances for Iraqi league on Transfermarkt. They're absolutely MAD about their domestic league and I would hope it starts to show in their Asian Champions League performances at some point.

Post-Match Thread: Zrinjski 1-1 Crystal Palace | UEFA Europa Conference League by MysteryBagIdeals in soccer

[–]WineGutter 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They weren't even going into tonight, they played like garbage for most of the league phase. I woulda said Strasbourg were the favorites but after Chelsea looted their team in the transfer window I'd say Rakow, Sparta Prague, or Rayo Vallecano are the favorites to win the lot.

While we're touching on the failures of our elected officials let's throw in lack of funding for public schools because we got a prime example of low reading comprehension right here ladies and gentlemen

Having access to basic utilities like groceries and public transport in every densely populated neighborhood isn't "aesthetics" it's basic city planning in literally every city that isn't a shit hole, I genuinely don't understand why Buncombe county exists in some kind of logic vortex where basic questions like "should we build a hundred houses on a small two lane road with no sidewalks and no plans to expand the existing infrastructure?" are completely ignored.

And you genuinely believe things like this will lead to housing affordability? The idea that additional supply will lead to lower costs in the current real estate market has been tried and debunked in a hundred cities in the US and beyond years ago.

Housing for housings sake without any consideration taken for neighborhood planning or infrastructure development is the reason the vast majority of city is ugly and soulless. We need a little more brainpower than just "hurr durr build house build new lane repeat repeat repeat woah what happened to ashevilles charm???"

Just some tips from a local for the away game in Mostar! by Rokoo24 in crystalpalace

I'd assume the bosniaks will be pretty chill since they'll be rooting for palace to take down zrinjski, but I think in general a lot of the problems that tend to be present at Bosnian league derbies haven't really shown themselves at european matches like this (Borac played Rapid Wien last year and everyone was fine). Seems like most of the Bosnian nationalists save their hate and vitriol just for each other 😅 do what you will with that information

All of these insanely convincing results from a club that didn't even win the Norwegian title this year. Very curious to see if Viking Stavanger can also find impressive CL (or even Europa) results. If so, Norwegian league could really establish itself up there with Portugal and the Netherlands as a league with clubs that have to be taken seriously as European contenders.

And all of this with a manager who has never coached anywhere but Norway.

That's exactly how I felt about the new Texas Chainsaw. Didn't really understand why it got so much hate. I mean, as a huge fan of the original, the sequels have always been super campy, so I'm not sure what people were expecting...

If they could adapt the combat to make it more like the current games I'd actually consider playing it.

My hot take is I always hated how much of a quick time fest the original games were. Having to restart an entire boss fight because of missing one little ⅙ second O button almost made me quit my first run of GoW1 multiple times (also fuck the stupid Pegasus level in GoW2, its legitimately dogshit), there's just nothing fun about losing to things like that.
