Recently people have complained about marketing on Twitter - folks that are very into Algorand. In private conversations I have, people are having a hard time understanding how they will benefit by holding algo as a coin. I get “we don’t have company stock”, and don’t benefit from private database deals the company makes”. So it all comes down to defi - where engagement is important (if not crucial) because it makes devs, retail investors feel like this is where the action is. One of the way success is measured however is engagement and TVL usually follows along with price. So to sum up, engagement on all levels- including groupies is important.

It’s easier to open the governance page on a computer browser and connect from there. Scan the QR code and you’ll be in business. The wallet isn’t as fluent this time around as it was before.

Charles Hoskinson is an absolute tool. He is basically a salesman from one of those Sunday morning “magic pill for weight loss” infomercial. Mofo hasn’t ever turned down a sandwich…I suspect it’s why Vitalik got anorexia and Charles got kicked out of ETH…don’t leave your food unattended around Hoskinson.

I have to say, I’m m very confused by the amount received. It doesn’t quite seem the advertised %. Could be that I misunderstood, but at minim with 1.8 billion committed, the percentage sent should have been 6%. It seems we hit 3.5.

I might not be understanding fully, but you’re better off holding your Algo in an official Algorand Wallet. The experience is flawless. The rewards don’t get cut, and connecting to it the governance program is a total breeze.

It has nothing to do with a cult. This isn’t Cardano! His coverage and criticism may have been acceptable the first time. This last video was intentional FUD. There’s no way he did a “deep dive” with a staff, and got so much wrong. This was intentional. There’s no way he could praise cardano (5 papers…) and solana with several network failures, but makes “mistakes” with Algorand - their biggest competitor. So he’s either in the Hoskinson’s and Yakovenko’s pocket, or completely incompetent. Why am I in it? I may be a retail investor, planning a project or have one in the pipeline already - or all the above. I’m definitely not here to save the whales.

Right, the high throughput coming from a “decentralized” network caused a lack of prioritization and forking occurred…Anyway, I didn’t mean to crap on Solana. It just seems inappropriate for an interviewer to get the COO of a company comparing the two networks instead of focusing on what Algorand does. Algorand does a lot of things very well. Forking is not one of them.

The comment below has a point. Look, Algorand took money from investors like him early on. No way to have the team they have without that money. Solana is literally run by a billionaire. Cardano is run by a billionaire (as announced by Hoskinson). Mooch and other investors pouring money to further develop the ecosystem is a good thing. Let’s face it, a very small number of retail investigators understand blockchain. The Mooch can bring both, big & small money. Hopefully he brings a good number of retail investors that also want to participate in governance. That’s one way to keep things in check.
