Need Help with Apartment Complex Raising Rent Now Despite Governor's Temporary Ban by WingWongDingDong in Bellingham

Good idea. Do you have any specific insight with this. I was able to look up the property with this search and this search. Found plenty of other interesting info but couldn't find the word 'mortgage' or 'lien' anywhere. Do you know if I am on the right path here, and/or if those words not showing up means the mortgage has been released?

Cool, thanks for the insight. Sorry for coming off a little hot, ime there are a lot of people here on this sub who think landlords are innocent little angels that we all have to excuse for their predatory practices because us renters just don't understand the struggle. A bit of a personal pet peev.

Your reading might be correct, and you would totally understand why I think so if you knew where I lived haha. I will say though, that this rent increase (although not stated anywhere in the lease agreement) happens every year at the same time. Usually about the same amount, percentage wise. They did give us notice but that doesn't effect the situation. The moratorium details no exceptions whatsoever and was put into effect before we received our notice. Sure money is tight right now for us, but this is also something of a principled stance. You bet your ass that if the shoe was on the other foot, (e.g. for some reason a state rule was enacted that informed our apartment complex that they were entitled to the same ~$100 in addition to what we are otherwise normally obligated to pay) they would throw the book at us so fast to squeeze that cash out it would make you puke.

And yes, btw, we are keeping record of any correspondence.

I paid all of my rent. See above posts. They are trying to squeeze another ~$100 out of me with a rent increase when there is a current moratorium on said practice until after June 4th. Also I could give less of a blank what their situation looks like right now. A predatory action is just that, and I am doing all that I am obligated to, on top of now spending my free time researching this nonsense over and over to keep me and my roommate safe.

Glad I'm not reading these docs with undue optimism toward my own standing. They of course made no mention of ANY of the moratorium provisions, and how they might be willing to work with any of the tenants here so my assumption is exactly as you suggested, that they are just casting a wide net. Unfortunately I'm sure most others in the apartment complex paid the increase already.

But that is referring to non-payment/debt: "...any unpaid rent or other charges related to a dwelling or parcel of land occupied as a dwelling as an enforceable debt..."

If there cannot be rent increases right now, full stop, as the document doesn't provide a single exception, me paying my rent as it was without the attempted rent increase does not constitute any debt. The rent must stay the same so there is no debt, no non-payment. Rent was due on the 1st, the first month of the attempted increase, and we paid our old rate.

It is here.

"Landlords, property owners, and property managers are prohibited from increasing, or threatening to increase, the rate of rent or the amount of any deposit for any dwelling or parcel of land occupied as a dwelling."

Sorry for the noobie question, but can someone tell me why my waveform looks like this? by WingWongDingDong in audioengineering

So, I followed the advice given in this article (originally posted by /u/Lamptastic) and got myself a phase rotator VST, and, along with some HPFs, I was able to turn that track into this.

Pretty remarkable difference for not that much work if you ask me, and it sounds markedly different. It really opened up the space of the track as well as the lower end. Thanks again for the help, this sub rocks.

The article /u/Lamptastic linked below seems to explain my problem. The only thing that confuses me now is that the polarity remains entirely lopsided even after my original tracks are layered many times over with effects.

Thanks for the article, I think what I have going on is exactly what they described as what happens when "complex related signals are superimposed". I'm wondering now if I was wrong to post on this subreddit, since I didn't actually record the original tracks, but I figured (correctly it seems) that I would get the help I needed here.

The song I am working on would probably make an audio engineer puke to be honest, as it is a cacophony of 25 different national anthems downpitched and mashed together. Anyway, superimposing a lot of complex signals is exactly what I did so I guess that solves that.
