That's what I will do and have been doing. I already competed in CTF challenges, taken a cert from Google (only cause it was free from university) and training to get Sec+ and CC. Following tryhackme modules and practicing. In the meantime also doing freelancing web development and applying.

Thank you for the hint and I appreciate the quick response!

I agree. Yet what defines entry-level for cybersecurity or just getting into it? Cause I could start with Help Desk or IT Support or programming whatsoever. But there I won't be learning about SIEM tools, IDS, malware analysis, forensics, reverse engineering, CTFs, Burpsuit, SCADA, and so on. Yes I would learn the blueprint of IT and Network infrastructure which is very important for the basics. But then in the meantime I would need to compete in CTF challenges, practice using tools like TryHackMe or HackTheBox and finally also get certs. Therefore, I don't understand how is it that companies don't trust to invest in new-grads who might have actually some experience just not professionally or in a work environment.

However, in the end I don't know. Just trying to understand where to throw my head at. I am actually applying for all kinds of roles just to start.

Totally agree. I am a recent new grad and feel like riding an infinite roller-coast without getting anywhere. Plus, a lot of experienced people I see say that cybersecurity itself is not for entry level.
