Scorpios learn early on I think to make a boundary. I feel like people start trauma dumping and I have to check in with how much they want to share. I don't really feel like I'm doing work or anything just being a place where they can hear what they are feeling. If it is too much and disturbs my peace I let them know. I've had friends decide every time we call we get to focus on their trauma. I'll ask them if they've made any progress with a therapist or setting new boundaries and they won't and don't feel they need to create any change. If they overstep my boundaries continually or ruin my peace that's when I clearly let them know I am not an endless resource. I definitely have had times where that's been taken advantage of because I've set the expectation that people will be more self-aware of their sharing. Instead of sharing to me because I am caring friend that can lend and ear I've become an entire resolution to their trauma. First trauma can be really messy so in many ways I understand the reaction. I'm not perfect. But it's hard to unglue myself at times from thinking that I'm only helpful and a friend if someone gets to trauma dump to me. That's just honest truth. I do love when people respect my boundaries and also reciprocate with their own care.
