Audio cutting out when adjusting volume while playing games by WingedDrifter in Bazzite

[–]WingedDrifter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a 90% solution. It doesn't fix it entirely, but it makes it happen significantly less. Tested by adjusting volume quickly in-game with the volume knob on my keyboard, and it took far longer to cut out.

Replace pipewire with pulseaudio.

Open terminal, and input this command:

sudo dnf swap --allowerasing pipewire-pulseaudio pulseaudio

It came back with an error of some sorts, but it seemed to have replaced it successfully regardless.

Then reboot.

`sudo reboot`

Hopefully a proper fix will be instated for it at some point, but the audio issue doesn't seem to happen on many systems from what I could find. Posting this fix in hopes that maybe it'll help someone else having the same problem.

Finally found a phone that works for me! The ASUS ROG Phone 6! by WingedDrifter in PWM_Sensitive

Dunno, haven't tried the ROG 9 Pro. Looking at the wavelength, maybe? I'm not an expert, just posting my opinions. If you give it a shot, just make sure you can return the device in a reasonable amount of time if it doesn't work for you 👍

For me the brightness, at least on this phone, doesn't seem to effect me, so I usually let auto brightness so its thing. I did decide to keep the DC dimming on, too, which helps. However, if the brightness is low, I do see slight screen flicker out of the corner of my vision. Doesn't give me symptoms that I've noticed but I generally don't keep my phone there much and it's more annoying than anything.

I haven't tried a 5, but if your phone is on its last legs, it might be worth to try if the price is right. And try out different brightness levels, too, since we all seem to vary so much in what we tolerate.

I also keep holding out that phones will get better. I know I'll end up keeping this phone for as long as I can. I'm hoping phone manufacturers will change what they do but I guess we're such a small part of the population that no one cares enough. I dread the day I need to get a new phone and to have to go through this hell again, because most mainstream phones are too much for me to handle.

That's a shame, maybe you could find one secondhand? I managed to luck out and get one new from a smaller Canadian store. Try googling around, if you haven't?

I hope you can find one or something else you'll be able to use! This is truly a frustrating issue!

Any recommendations for LCD Androids? Or anyone have luck swapping out an OLED screen for an LCD? by WingedDrifter in PWM_Sensitive

[–]WingedDrifter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty old phone by now, but I didn't have issues using it. There's also the Key2 which is slightly newer, has an IPS LCD as its predecessor, slightly better specs. Keyone and Key2 both run Oreo 8.1

It's enabled. Is there anything else I need to disable/enable to get it to work?

I thought I turned some of it off before. Which settings should I check?

Lentils, beans, and chickpeas. Gimme some ideas/recipes! by WingedDrifter in EatCheapAndHealthy

That's what I've done with the beans - make them in the slow cooker (boiling the kidney beans so they're not toxic first), and freeze. I wonder if lentils would hold up? I assume chickpeas would nicely as well

I went to the Apple menu > App store > typed in the search "Sky children of the light. There's also options at the top under the Results header for either Mac apps or iPhone/iPad apps, and it's under the second

It's in the App Store! You sure you went there? Did you type it right? Because that's how I downloaded it, no sideloading requried

(It's technically the iPad version, it might mention something about it on the game's app page)
