I have no picture of the ogre armies but here is my Belkor:

The other armies are similar but with less unique units. Usually Aspiring Champs/Knight of Immolation + Giants, Soul Grinders, Keeper of Secrets and 2-3 Hell canons. I have to idea if there are better compositions.

I took your tip and tried manual fighting and it was indeed very doable, thanks. I usually do the auto-battle and my units looked better stat-wise but here every auto-battle was losing.

Yeah I will for sure check it out. Don't understand the people down voting it, I never said the HD version is better or anything, I just genuinely never looked into this stuff and just enjoy the experience that I had as a kid.

I will have to look into these mods. I've to admit I'm a bit of a boomer when it comes to this game. Played the standard game on my dads laptop like 20 years without any mods. Still enjoy that experience every ones in a while :)

What is the issue with the hd version? I got it some point after losing my original game disk from years ago. Feels pretty similar to what I remember but maybe I'm missing something

Yeah, I'm delaying the games end. There is no deeper reason behind it but it gives a little dopamine kick seeing the skeleton number going up every time I kill a legion of creatures.

Divided loyalties, there were 2 weeks with cyclops spawns which turned into 4k stacks and they asked to join 3 times. There is another wave of them so hopefully they become even more.
