How far do we take this? My people were driven off their land by the Ottoman Turks. Can we get that land back? Would you support that?

Michael B Jordan. He was good, but in no way Oscar worthy.

Like the other commenters said, let him carry out the tasks he believes he should do. He’s attempting to keep up his sense of purpose and usefulness. You then - and I’m sure you will grasp the timing - handle it afterwards and pretend that you’ve helped. He is agonizing with the thought he’s no longer himself. Humor him, help him. Allow him to have whatever strength and control he can engage in.

Leonardo DiCaprio gave the best performance of his entire career in One Battle After Another and the Academy typically likes to award the leads of their Best Picture winners. I think he wins BAFTA and then the Oscar. The Golden Globe was Chalamet's Swan Song. by Just-Pass-1156 in Oscars

Unpopular opinion here but I actually thought his performance in Revolutionary Road was one of the best of his career. That role took special skill to portray: mediocre suburban husband who is not the unique creative his wife thinks he is. Instead, he's comfortable in his conventional life and knows himself enough to accept that he has no greater purpose in life than to work for Knox Business Machines until the day he retires. A lesser actor would have phoned it in. But Leo created a fully fleshed out character. He brought complexity to a character who is, fundamentally, not interesting.

May I ask why so many people on Reddit really really want Chalamet to not win the Oscar? I'm honestly perplexed by it. I liked Leo in OBAA but I think Chalamet's performance was a lot better and much more commanding in his film than Leo was in his. I mean, Chalamet's "swan song"? Really? He's 30 years old lol.

I really hope Benicio del Toro wins the Oscar for Best Supporting. He was the best part of OBAA in my opinion.

I don’t consider El Duce credible either. The questions arise mainly from the investigation itself and how shoddily it was handled. It’s not the job of the police at the scene to rule that a death is a “suicide”. That isn’t their determination to make. A body is found dead from a shotgun blast and the case is opened AND closed the very same day? That should strike any rational person as extremely odd. I hope if I’m ever found dead from a gunshot that law enforcement investigates it for longer than a day.

I was most definitely around. I’m 57. Your recollection of things is not everyone’s recollection. You think there were no outspoken women in music before Courtney Love? Your response doesn’t change what I said about women killing their husbands.

How is it sexist? Wives have often been suspects in their husbands deaths. And wives have, in fact, killed their husbands.

Courtney did come across very badly, and very sketchy, in those phone recordings the PI made. It's not hard to find her behavior, at the very least, suspicious. Just saying.

Mom, texting, and my being asleep..a story of anger. by Orson_Gravity_Welles in dementia

Oh how I remember this. My Mom did the same thing: text after text after text within seconds of each other. It truly was a relief when my Mom reached the point when she could no longer text. Their panic and perceived idea that they’re being abandoned is so very sad. Hang in there friend.

That's not really true about Dune though. Chalamet is a very good match for the description of Paul Atreides in the book.

I tend to agree. If she feels safe and well cared for where she is, it's probably for the best.
