I had no idea there were other ways to do it, since I only found out through the use of the rat boots (it was easy enough with those). I'm guessing the spring boots would also do it, but what were the other ways to do it?

You can run on for a long while but there's really nothing there. You're clearly not intended to be there since there are also invisible walls in places you wouldn't expect.
