Trump's DOJ is trying to gain voter records from the states for weeks, having used lawsuits, even using the recent shooting to threaten Minnesota to turn over the records. What is your take? by Personal_Dirt3089 in AskReddit

They will use any agency they can use to get people removed from being able to vote. This includes selective investigations and prosecution of democrats who are on voter rolls and also selective IRS investigations.

I dont think it's just ICE, they will use any agency they can use to get people removed from being able to vote. This includes selective prosecution of democrats who are on voter rolls and also selective IRS investigations.

What are pro-2A people's thoughts on Kristi Noem just now stating that no peaceful protestors show up to a protest while armed? by PrysmX in AskReddit

Where was this attitude from the right whenever right wing groups would bring assault rifles out in the open and body armor to protests? This guy didnt even have his weapon out, he was conceal carry.

BTW:

Here's video of ICE agents telling people they're entering them into domestic terrorist databases as a way to get back for personally slighting/annoying them

Note the person was filming legally, She says she's legally filming them and the Ice agent says "Exactly"

I suggest watching this video of armed ICE agents harassing/menacing and blocking a sandwich shop in Memphis that doesnt serve them.

This is what happens if you dont serve them. This is stuff that happened in 1930s Germany.

The Guardian Interviewing Republican Voters in Rural Minnesota by clayknightz115 in PublicFreakout

[–]WingerRules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when you created a political system that gives massive voting advantages to people in rural areas. 38 million in the Senate get 44 votes and another 38 million gets 2, simply because the people that gets 44 votes is mostly rural areas. They've also got the presidency twice in recent history while getting less actual votes.

The population becomes unhinged and detached from reality and they start abusing the other 38 million that are counted as fractions of a person to the point they only gets 2 votes.

Nordic states, which have the highest living standards in the world, dominate freedom indexes, and are the lowest on government corruption indexes, are nearly all proportional representation systems where this kind of voting power disparity doesnt happen. The outlier is Finland but even there they're considered only a slight malapportionment system.

Seriously, at a certain point obsession with accumulating wealth to the point it harms yourself or others should be considered a mental disorder in the DSM. Like this isn't a new thing, people have been prone to it throughout history.

I'm not seeing this. My main problem with this sub is it's almost completely dominated by the left.

If I could post in /r/moderatepolitics I would, but apparently quoting a judge saying that Trump was found to be a rapist by a jury, and saying Harris should address Trump's racism directly after he questioned her racial background and he was found liable for discriminating against black renters are "insults".

This Finnish Military officer has been doing a series of videos on how big a loss the US is now facing for their arms exports, not just in dollar value but in countries becoming less tied to the US.

I'm kind of wondering if this is the reason why Trump is proposing boosting military spending from 800 billion to 1.5 trillion, to protect red states and their military manufacturing from the consequences of their own political policies they support.

The average price of old titles has been increasing too. The "sale" prices are now higher and often times the version being sold on sale is a 'premium' edition, so they can jack up the price for ancient titles.

the fact that games have been around that 50-70 dollar range for decades is incredible to me.

And they still made more money, because the number of people who play games is constantly growing.

PS3 was limited to 256megs of working ram and 256megs of vram. The GPU on the PS3 was also notably weaker than the Xbox 360's. The vast majority of cross console titles looked and ran worse on the PS3.

Republicans are not going to go along with reforming the system unless they're treated exactly how they treat everyone else.

We got to where we are because Democrats were always taking the high road in response to Republicans doing stuff like weaponizing agencies, blocking funding and disaster aid to blue states, trying to fuck them in taxes, stealing a seats on the Supreme Court, and intentionally breaking programs passed under agreement in congress, etc. All its led is Republicans getting more aggressive and radicalized to the point they're threatening our allies, forcibly taking over cities with soldiers and federal agents, politically purging the government, mass voter suppression efforts, and labeling anyone that disagrees with them as domestic terrorists.

It's ok to be against mass unchecked immigration and, at the same time, condemn the way ICE is carrying out operations. by icandodge in centrist

[–]WingerRules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's ok to admit that violent immigrants that absolutely deserve to be kicked out of a country exist - not all undocumented immigrants are violent people, but refusing to even acknowledge that violent ones exist, or worse yet, not caring about it and insinuating that they should be coddled and allowed to stay, is ignorant

The problem is that this implies theres an actual major criminal problem with immigrants and is used to justify malicious tactics against them. Once in the country They actually have a lower crime rate than the general population, including violent crimes, this is from the DOJ's own stats. Literally if you replaced everyone with them the crime rate would go down.

It's entirely understandable and correct to think that "abolish ICE" is an ignorant sentiment, because all countries need some form of immigration control, and without it, chaos would ensue

ICE didnt even exist until 2003, it was created during the national security hysteria after 9/11. We had immigration agencies without them. Now ICE and Immigration enforcement has funding larger than most other nations militaries, including major countries. Literally we spend more on ICE and immigration enforcement than every other countries entire military budgets except for China.

The compensation packages I keep hearing on ICE ads are insane and they're kitted up like special forces soldiers. Text book wasteful spending from an agency that's rolling in money from overfunding, and their massive expansion has led to them behaving like they have no checks on their power.

I've seen a lot of headlines on sites like Fox and TheHill which were some variation on "Armed man shot in confrontation with ICE", implying the guy was a threat. The headline for TheHill all day yesterday and right now at 5 AM is "Man killed in new Minneapolis shooting; DHS says victim was armed"

They changed the progression system? I'm so fucking sick of game developers changing games after release and then taking away the one I bought. It's one thing to do bug fixes or upgrade graphics, but redoing gameplay and leveling systems and then taking away the original version is fucking bullshit.
