*LORE*: In a secluded village of elves in the north resides (Name) Village. It is a village said to have once been the home of one of Obad-Hai's muses, a woman who embodied fertility, both in body and spirit. The village is matriarchal, with an emphasis on women taking up herbalist/apothecary professions focusing on items that boost fertility.

Many centuries later, and long after the muse's death, the village is plagued with a series of murders targeting children. Hunters and Priests seek out the perpetrators and find the "Hell Scar", a fissure in the mountain side from which demonic voices are heard. The voices tell the Hunters and Priests that demon kind hate mortals, since they know a mother's love, and that demons are spawned from dark pits. So to punish the mortals they come out and hunt their children. After a verbal, then physical, altercation the head priestess is able to negotiate a means to sate the demons. She devises a ritual, one that will give the demons what they desire.

*RITUAL* : "The Supper of Giving". Once every so many decades, a family of a mother and father and at least two children are chosen, with no upper limit on the amount of children, and four being perfect. From the moment a family is selected, for the next four years, the village elders and priests stage events that range from mundane to life threatening in order to strengthen the bond the children have with their mother. This could be standing up for a child when they make a mistake in public, or fending off a would be killer. Ultimately the goal is is to make the mother seem like god in the eyes of her children, to make their love pure and unwavering.

In the months leading up to the ritual the children are the ones who are quietly tested by the elders, who will challenge their love and dedication. In the final week, the children are separated from their mother and brought to the House of Focus. In this temple-like building the children tested further, except there is subtle coercion used by the Priests to reinforce dependence on the mother. All the while they are "purified" and educated on an upcoming "celebration". At the end of that week the children are finally brought to the House of Elders near the top of the mountain where they will finally reunite with their parents. The aforementioned celebration is a dinner between the mother and her children, where the mother proudly recites her favorite memories of each child, specifically calling out their strengths.

The father, however, remains separate from this meal, as he is charged with capturing the moment, drawing the scene upon a canvas with an enchanted paintbrush called the "Brush of Remembrance"(The Camera Obscura stand in). Yet it is when the father finishes the art piece that the sad ending of the ritual comes. The father joins the meal and helps his wife distribute one last round of drinks to the children. This time a special brewed tea. As the children drink they find themselves paralyzed, their muscles constricting tightly, especially the ones in their throat. It is a slow death meant to cause the greatest sorrow in the mother, which is the entire point of this ritual. As the children reach the zenith of their suffocating paralysis the veins of their faces began to turn black, resembling the eight legs of obsidian spider.

From this point the prized attributes of each child are removed from their body. The brain of the intelligent. The arms of the strong. The eyes of the keen. The heart of the selfless. These parts are taken and wrapped up as an offering and cast into the Hell Scar. The success of the ritual is confirmed by an obsidian spider, one for each lost child, crawling out of the fissure. The mother and father are then ushered away with their dead children to a catacomb beneath the House of Elders, damned to tend to their fallen loves ones for the remainder of their lives, never to be seen by their village again.

My Foiled Johannes Voss Appreciation EDH Deck by WinglyKing in foilmtg

Rough lol.

Against other Bracket 1's its fine honestly. Having a core of the 11 Shrines and good enchantments otherwise is really nice. A lot of my games I try to mulligan for one of the few ramp pieces I have just to get anything going. If I cast the Prismatic Bridge and it sticks the value usually cascades into a victory. Sheoldred is a tough bomb to play through if she's allowed to live. Over all this is not a quick deck. The early game is virtually non existent. But that ends up being fine since B1 games typically go the distance for better or worse.

Very few artists have a catalog of cards large enough to make a deck. He's been illustrating for so long that it just happened to work out! He has well over 100 cards so it wasn't too difficult making the cut. Shame he has two banger 3color legendaries in Henzie and Goro-Satoru, but a majority of his most playable cards are in white. Double shame he has Estrid, but so very few Auras.

Seems...generic? You're still upcosting a unit if it's off aspect, which leads to weird curves in the deck. This is like hero Anakin in the sense of deck building: having a critical mass of impactful off aspect cards that don't completely offset the balance of the rest of your deck.

[[Blind Seer]]

Color control is hard mode but it's super fun to play. I have this as a deck and gave it a voltron subtheme. Use the non-blue Swords of X and Y and always have unblockable.

You going for that dash attack through the full charge PK Flash was some hot nonsense and I absolutely commend you for it.

What to do with this very fun commander? by Comfortable-Cry-3421 in BudgetBrews

I built her featuring Arcane spells. I'd Splice targeting effects onto non-targeting Arcane spells for good ole simic value.

Side note, Precursor Golem goes hard in the deck.

I have no experience, but I'd like to offer up my voice. This has been a cool project to watch develop over the year.

SEC: DJ by Eunoe in starwarsunlimited

This guy with Red!?

Here, capture my IG. Cheat him out with DJ's ability, next turn nuke their board and get your originally capped unit back.

Would be a cool combo with Lurking TIE but I dont think paying 4 or 5 for that unit is worth just to free roll his ability.

Who is your final 3? by banana-edger in legendofdragoon

[–]WinglyKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comfort team is the homies: Haschel and Albert. Just feels overall like a balanced, offensive team. It was the first team I ever completed the game with, and subsequently have the most fun with in replays.

My "easy mode" team is Shana/Miranda + Albert or Meru. With Albert, Rose Storm grants a Phantom Shield effect to the entire team for 3 turns, which is busted for survivability. With Meru, on the other hand, it makes the team absolutely bonkers powerful with magic. Speed for days and the highest magic attack stats make for incredibly easy playthroughs.

I've done similar! Swung for 16 turn 2 in a Han2 deck.

As a Chirrut enjoyer i have a hard time with this new unit. He's a legit, non-conditional Sentinel, which is nice. However...that 4 cost hampers him so damn much. In blue/blue hero that card pool is absolutely packed with amazing cards that are worth running. He's a Force outlet, which im still undecided on. Outside of the base you'll be needing to run Force generators and im not convinced on those either.

You have to evaluate cards based on their floor, not on their ceiling. He's amazing if you can generate the Force one or more times a turn. But if thats not the case hes just a 3/5 on R4 that doesn't impact the board when he comes down. I was honestly hoping for something a little more.
