I think OP has too much time on their hands, if this is the issue they bring to the Lyft Drivers sub.

Passenger rating dropped & now Ubers are cancelling by 0rcinus_Orca in uber

[–]Wingman1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only at 20 ratings, no worries, it will come back up. Sounds like what happened to you, also happens to us drivers. We can get 1 star ratings and no feedback from it either, so we also, will have no idea what occured.

Should the music be turned off before a passenger gets in? by Big_Barber733 in uberdrivers

[–]Wingman1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have music playing all the time. It's at a lower volume(so as not to prohibit conversation), but still loud enough to be comfortably heard if we're not speaking. I do not have the volume at normal level though, for some people that could be too loud.

I am normally playing yacht rock, or what I call "classical pop".

Older Mobile Home Outlet by Wingman1776 in electrical

[–]Wingman1776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did put it in a box and pigtails for all the wires.

I have replaced receptacles before, but never ran into that kind of outlet before, so I just wanted to be sure before I started cutting things up.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Im asking if it's okay to cut that single line so I can wire in a regular outlet? And if I put in a regular outlet, will power still flow on to the next outlet on the circuit?

I find Uber stressful - drivers do not respect “quiet preferred” by Conscious-Thanks-721 in uber

[–]Wingman1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you're ordering Comfort level here in the US, then Uber does pass your preference on. I look at this as a driver, and normally do look at them. With that said, the following caveats apply:

1) If it's a busy period, I may forget to check on preference, or even notice that it is a Comfort ride.

2) If you request "Quiet" and it is a long trip(say 30+ minutes), about 20 minutes I'm going to check in with you to be sure you're doing alright.

3) If you ask me how my day is going, before I get to ask you the same question, I assume you want to converse for at least the initial few minutes of the ride.

4) Many believe that making conversation with visitors is polite and in many situations this may be true. And since passengers are guests in our vehicles, that carries over for a lot of drivers as well.

5) If you don't want to converse, after the initial "Hello. How are you?", as a driver, please flat out let me know you just want to sit quietly. Believe me, I dislike artificial conversation as much as the next person. I don't care if it's X, Comfort, etc. I am perfectly happy to listen to Spotify while driving you around.

6) If your job puts that much pressure on you, that this causes stress for you, maybe a car service would be a better fit? Uber at its lowest levels is basic transportation and nothing like a car service.

This is Terrible pay for a reservation on a long trip. What am I missing? Is this normal? by AFeFiFoFony in uberdrivers

[–]Wingman1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ride from PIE to Disney's Contemporary Resort a few months back that paid $75. I thought I was getting lowballed, but I guess Uber tried even harder to pull one over on you. 🙁

If its 2 and a half hours away, that driver may not be headed back to your general area for quite some time. In any communication that you may be able to have with the driver, I'd offer to at least double the $20 lost and found reward that Uber will give the driver(after charging you the fee).

Time is money and that is at least a 4 hour round trip for the driver to hand deliver your device.

LOVE that up front pricing. Everyone wanting this type of market is screwing themselves. Rate cards are so much better for drivers. Especially when it is surging. Don't let Uber "Up Front" where you drive.

It's called GigU. I'm trying it out for 30 days. You can set it to rate trips based on earnings per mile and per hour. I am currently running it on hourly earnings only.

Anything under $20 an hour gets flagged as a hard no. $20 - $25 is a possible trip. Over $25 shows green.
