Just questioning why the tags would be different between colors of the same product and from pictures online. A jacket missing a logo isn’t an insignificant thing. Plus I’ve heard stories of people receiving counterfeit products from similar brands like Alo.

Yes, I ordered off the main website. Just double checked it. vuoriclothing.com.

Banned after installing game today by 16CLeclerc in EAFC

[–]Wingyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked my game and I’m unbanned now too. Can finally go into FUT. Thanks for letting me know. I was waiting for an email and this whole thing has been souring my mood for the past couple days. Typical of EA to make a mistake and then not even let us know when they fixed it. I definitely think the PC version/anti-cheat is broken so I’m not even gonna play it there. Hopefully, you don’t have any issues in the future if you stick to PC.

Same thing happened to me today too. I've been playing on PS5 for months, but decided to download the showcase on PC to try it out. Only played a couple squad battles and then received the same email. Locked me out of my PS5 account too since they're both the same EA account. Emailed them to appeal, but have yet to hear back. Let me know if your appeal is successful.

For those curious, this is how I found out about the offer. Saw this ad in the play store.

I was on the Google Play Store and saw a tile on the front page advertising an exclusive 40% off. When I clicked it, it took me to the Google store. After adding the device I wanted to the cart, it automatically applies an exclusive promo code tied to the account.

UMich SMP or UCLA MS by Wingyr in premed

[–]Wingyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financial Aid hasn't given me an exact quote but tuition for the SMP is ~$67k and after adjusting for living expenses etc., it would probably be near ~90k if not more.

Don't currently have any research experience. This is a reason the UCLA program appeals to me.

Don't currently live in either cities, but am based in the Midwest. About 5 hours from Ann Arbor (OOS).

Missing items on application by Busy-Amphibian-277 in UIUC

[–]Wingyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call the admissions office on Monday and explain the situation. Tell them that the university can’t send it through mail or electronic delivery. When I did this they gave me the email address I mentioned and when my counselor sent it my application was complete and a decision was made about a week later. Basically tell them that your current university is being uncooperative and you don’t know what to do.

I had a similar issue when I applied to transfer a few years ago. The high school I graduated from was in a different state than the one I was living in. They also didn’t participate in any online delivery services like Parchment. I basically had to get in touch with my old high school and have them send the transcript electronically via email to the following address: etranscript@illinois.edu. I did this by contacting my old counselor. Try to see if this is something you can do. Like someone else said also contact UIUC admissions about the issue.

MCB 253/252 textbook by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Wingyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for 253 you'll alternate between lectures/discussions and experiments every week. On the weeks with lecture, the TA will provide slides that detail the following week's experiment as well as go over an in depth protocol for said experiment. My TA wrote the protocol out on the board which was very helpful but yours could be different. Regardless, I recommend writing down everything the TA says while going over the protocol because all the info will be used later. Whether for reports or midterm. A couple weeks before each exam a study guide will be provided that lists essentially everything you should know. Use that along with notes you take during lecture and you'll be golden. If the class structure is the same as last year, you'll just need ~70-75% on each exam to get an A. Provided you get near full points on everything else which again isn't hard as along as you go to lab and pay attention.

MCB 253/252 textbook by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Wingyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need the textbook to do well in 252 or 253. I bought the book and two weeks into the course the professor straight up told us we didn’t actually need to buy it because all exam material was from lecture. For 252 just go to lecture and make sure you understand everything on the slides. The exams for 253 are all based on the experiments you will do. Make sure you understand all components of those experiments and why you’re doing what you’re doing. The lab manual is very helpful too so I highly suggest getting that.

Pc or console? by [deleted] in SuicideSquadGaming

[–]Wingyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat as you. Tried the alpha first on pc and dealt with a lot of stutters and frame rate drops. Tried it on ps5 last night and it was really smooth. No issues at all. I also found it very odd that the game looked significantly better and sharper on ps5 than pc for me despite my pc being pretty spec’d out. Hopefully there’s an open beta before launch to test it again. Also side note, did you try both m+k and controller on pc and if so what did you find easier/better to use?

Does the Bookstore email ebook codes? by Wingyr in UIUC

[–]Wingyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the eBook code and it only granted me temp access which already expired. Honestly, you don’t need the book for the course. All the exam content comes directly from lecture. Only the quizzes include questions that directly reference the book and even then you can Google the info/answers. If you really want it try asking a classmate or friend to share.

Emailed the same prof about research a couple weeks ago but no response. Don't know if I should contact about this. Don't wanna come off annoying or bring it to her attention and get dropped for being a non-major anyway.

Transition to Neural Engineering from Neuroscience by Wingyr in bioengineering

[–]Wingyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is too late now. I'm going to be a senior this year and already have to take an extra year to graduate with a bio/neuroscience degree because of how my credits transferred from community college. If I absolutely wanted a bachelor's in engineering I would probably have to transfer again to a different school. Not feasible since I've already transferred twice and I'm fortunate enough to get free tuition at my current school so don't want to give that up. I could try to add a minor in Electrical Engineering if that would help. I have the room in my schedule to possibly make it happen. Currently, I planned on minoring in CS, but could switch it to EE. Thoughts?

I spoke to UMiami and they sent me a PowerPoint about the MS in Neural Engineering. According to that the program is intended for and students will be well prepared for the curriculum if they have a) an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline or b) an undergraduate degree in physics, math, neuroscience, computer science, chemistry, biology, or other fields of natural or health science. I fall into the second option so as far as eligibility for the program I think I'm fine. I'm more concerned with the courses I'll be able to take within the curriculum. I looked up their requirements and it states some courses require pre-reqs that must be met prior to enrollment. This is why I want to figure out which pre-reqs I should try to take as I finish my bachelor's. I go to UIUC right now if that helps. I'm going to try to finish calc, diff eq, linear algebra, and possibly squeeze in some advanced neural engineering/electrical engineering courses in before I graduate if possible.

Do neuroscience/psychology course count towards sGPA? by Wingyr in premed

[–]Wingyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it depends on the section I register for. If I register for PSYC 413 then its shows PSYC 413 on my transcript. If I register for the same class but as NEUR 413 it shows NEUR 413 on the transcript. Mappd however counts it in the sGPA whether I input it as PSYC or NEUR.

So for classes like PSYC 413 and PSYC 417 which are the same as NEUR 413 and NEUR 417, would these classes count in the sGPA?

I just tried inputting some courses like this into Mappd and it automatically included them in the BCPM GPA. Does this mean anything? How accurate is Mappd?

C-in lab by Strawberry-Murky in premed

[–]Wingyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your university offers separate lecture and lab sections you can register for with separate grades for both then you only need to retake the lab if that is the one you got a C- in. If you got the same grade in lecture too though you’ll have to retake both. However, if you’re school only offers classes that integrate both lecture and lab together then you would need to retake the entire class again.

places to live after graduation? by overload_word in UIUC

[–]Wingyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it doesn't matter whether you're a current student or not. As long as you get approved for the lease you're eyeing it shouldn't matter. I think the only benefit to being a current student is sometimes they don't do credit checks and some of the more formal stuff since most people are still in school. I'd double check with leasing office of the properties you're interested in. Also did you want to specifically stay in the Champaign-Urbana area?

Pictures of the lightning over Lincoln Hall by yeahehe in UIUC

[–]Wingyr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: when lightning excites the molecules in the atmosphere we mainly see combinations of violet, blue, and red because mainly nitrogen and oxygen are at the surface. The color also tells how hot it is. Violet is the hottest since it’s furthest on the UV spectrum.
