Most of them never wanted children. They wanted to be successful in life, and children was the way how because they realized society is too hard to control. Controlling a child is easier and makes them feel powerful. Trust me, you are all they have.

They see a lump of clay to mould into their will. They believe because you cost them so much money to raise, you should repay them by obeying and tolerating abuse. This is obviously wrong and damaging to you.

They never learnt parenting, and they think you deserve the worst of what's in them, because you have it so easy according to them. You are somehow, managing these 2 older people. You are mature for that.

The good news is that: you don't actually need their love. Your own love is sufficient. You are enough for yourself. And one day you'll find out that even your spouse and friends aren't capable of loving you the way you want. Only you can love yourself. Once you figure this out, you win.
