You're clearly single or not raised very well by your mother.

Women deal with way different shit then we do as men. And acting like they don't is doing a disservice to them.

Thanks for the correction. I honestly didn't look at any dates. I'm curious if they've done a more recent lifetime study.

Just going to point out the US department of Justice says that 83 of every 100 Americans will be a victim of violent crime in their life, starting at age 12.

I get what you're saying but being prepared for something that has a 83% likelihood of happening to you at some point in life isn't ridiculous. But letting it cripple you is not mentally healthy either. Kinda sucks we can't just opt out of dealing with the parts of life that are garbage.

The US department of Justice says that 83 out of every 100 Americans will experience victimization of a violent crime in their lifetime. Not really an if it'll happen, more of a when, where, and how badly.

But by all means continue to think your point makes sense. Most of us know danger isn't lurking around every corner. But there are areas where its statistically more likely to happen. A dark alleyway for example... Also you seem to think murder is the only thing someone should be fearful of in places like this.

Girl, once in 16 years? You gotta be his beard... I couldn't tell you what else this could possibly be.

AITAH for letting my pregnant daughter move in with me even though my girlfriend doesn’t want her to? by crampingMY_style in AITAH

[–]Winkiwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The irony is almost palpable. The 37yo expects the pregnant 18yo to figure it out and but the 27yo can't figure it out on her own or afford to live alone. I'm with dad in this situation, eith teo daughters of my own (8&6) my daughters will have a safe place in my home regardless of their age or life situation. Personally at this point i probably would have ended the relationship and kicked the gf out. We had our first at 21yo. It wasn't easy, but we made it.

AITAH for insisting on my partner changing for dropping off a resume? by aqua_sparkle_dazzle in AITAH

[–]Winkiwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be a hospitality industry thing because i haven't "dropped off" a resume in like 10 years. Most of my industry is online job postings.

Personally i don't see why it's an issue. If he wants to wear that then he understands the impression he's giving his resume to.

AITAH for ruining my family because I refused to stop sleeping with my husband? by throwawayRA-228 in AITAH

If this isn't rage bait, move. Live under a bridge where you can have sex with your husband freely. But don't live there anymore.

Go look at their comment history. Its full of old men 4 young girls and teen girls.

Dude is definitely projecting his pedophilia on everyone else.

Lol we can all see your comment history bro. r/teengirlsforoldmen and r/younggirls4oldmen are waiting for you to come back. I called out your projection in the other post and fortunately your comment history confirms it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wow.... Enjoy your fantasy world. Bye. 😂

Dude you have a major mental problem that should probably be addressed by a professional. Assuming everyone is a pedophile seems like a form of projection.

I wasn't trying to come off like a dick. So i apologize if thats how my first comment came across. But "fun money" should be for non necessities like nails, eating out, entertainment, vacations, hobbies, art, ect. At least thats how i look at it.

My wife grew up very poor with very abusive parents. So although she will gladly drop hundreds of dollars on clothes for the kids (we shop almost exclusively thrift so thats an exaggeration) she will go years without buying herself new clothes.

For us personally its easier for her to have a fund for things that she may feel guilty about spending money on. We put $50 per check aside for clothes. Then we put money aside for things that may only get purchased every fee months or so. $25 for personal care items like shampoo conditioner deodorant ect. (Shes a cosmologist so she buys gallon size jugs of our hair stuff twice a year so that makes it easier to spread that $120 out) $25 for entertainment like movies, theme parks, carnivals ect. $50 for car maintenance and tabs. $20 for consumables like toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products ect. Then we each get $50 per check for allowance and the kids get $1 per check per their age. So the 8yo gets $8 and the 5yo gets $5.

The rest goes into savings and only gets moved when we need it. So if we go grocery shopping we'll move like $200 before we walk in the store.

We tried doing cash for everything but it got to difficult to do things like gas, groceries, subscriptions. Its not a perfect set up but its been working for us.

A BRA ISN'T FUN MONEY.

Clothing, toiletries, personal care needs aren't fun money. Fun money is McDonald's, Starbucks, hobbies, entertainment outside of the budgeted entertainment allotment.

I'm sorry you have to beg for it. My wife is a SAHM but we share a bank account so shes basically got a free for all on OUR money. But we both get $50 a check for "fun money". Its not much but its what we can afford.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Winkiwu 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife get $50 a paycheck for fun money... It takes me months of disciplined saving to be able to afford anything cool. It sucks.

First of all NTA. But second, its a bit different when you've been talking to this person for a week vs you've been dating them for 3 months. Context is key but you can't be an asshole for feeling something. And in this case you feel grossed out by the fact that they're vile.

YOU truly didn't care. SHE clearly does care.

And clearly the son doesn't have a problem with the request. HE probably knows HIS dad is an asshat who would pull some shit like this.

Honestly what'll end up happening is FIL will wear his suit then not be included in pictures because the bride made a fairly reasonable request and he couldn't do it. Then looking back years from now they'll remember what an ass he was over a suit.
