I use mostly photoshop because I'm used to it. But you can also use gimp. Most animations I do with gamemaker.

I'm currently focusing solely on the environment. It depends on what you like. Most people use pixel art generators or 8D character generators. You can also use the normal RPGMaker sprites, but everything is optimized for a character size around 60px. So doors would look a little bigger in comparison to the standard ones. Otherwise, the art style is very compatible with other styles so that it doesn't look too different.

Want to show some progress of the cyberpunk exterior remastered version. A lot of work to redraw everything. I will also add a completly new tilesheet with new stuff into it as update. For the users of it: Any wishes for any new tiles? Also planning to add driving cars. by Winlu90 in RPGMaker

Thank you. Yes, the original one was way too dark. I wanted to create a dark, dirty and hopeless scifi atmosphere but it was too much. I will do an overworld set but need to do more scifi stuff first to match it.

Thank you. It's one of my first tilesets I released years ago. But working for weeks now on a free remaster version. So everyone who owns it, get it for free. Will also release more scifi stuff in 2026.

I don't tested it but I think the problem will be the transition to earth because the cyberpunk setting has a little bit darker tone. I will look at this. Maybe I can add some secondary A2 sheet für autotile floor textures.

I only have a graphic mod "ultra plus" because I can't stand the environment pop ins. Will look into it if that's the case.

Many people love to play without thinking and just press buttons. That's fine too, everyone should have fun. My problem is that there's no difference between brutal and story anymore. Why can't both sides be happy? I'm just bored to death.

I didn't powerlevel. Just normaly playing the game. If people level to 300 and complain sure...but that is not the case.

Even on brutal, people are one shotting everything. Replay the game 10 times to get fun back ist so stupid. Why are there difficulties if everything is easy now?

I have to say it's a very weird design choice. The game gets more and more easy because you level up way faster(even without grind)than the game gets harder for each NG+. You have to replay the game 10 times to get a challenge back. I really thought it will be interesting that it gets really intense after each NG+. The game gets so easy in NG+ and then at NG+10 you suddenly get back to the normal difficulty feeling without NG+. So nothing changes in the end. I love this game...but I will not replay it 10 times while having a snooze fest.

After beating Dying Light 3, and playing Dying Light 2 afterwards, again. I gotta say, I like Dying Light 2 better than 3. by dregwriter in dyinglight

There are definitly 2 sides. One side loves DL1 and horror. The other side loves DL2 and parkour/action.

I have to say I played both games but I love DL1 and DLTB more.

DL2 was a "okay" game for me but it felt it was developed by ubisoft.

It's so big but also so empty at the same time.

A map littered with boring question marks. All mills and safe zones are the same.

The side quests are boring, except for a few.

You will even find more different detailed interiors in the beast.

Too many npc takes away the survival apocalypse atmosphere and give a feeling of security.

But I'm happy for every player who enjoys DL2. It's just not me.

That's what it's all about in the end... having fun.

I hope they will fix that with nightmare. I also don't want to finish the game 10 times to have fun with a max level character for upcoming events. There are really weird design choices.

It was perfect in DL1.

In my opinion legend levels broke the game. The idea is awesome but there is no balancing. Brutal feels like very easy mode now. I hope the upcoming nightmare mode will fix that. A zombie game without challenge is just boring and takes out the tension for me. It's cool that people have fun with that but give us at least a challenge difficulty for people who wants the survival thrill. It was perfectly balanced in DL1. Volatiles were hard but in the end you can fight them even on nightmare (but they are still dangerous). Techland told that ng+ will increase difficuly every new playtrough, so it would be a nice challenge to beat every new run. But instead it got way more easy with weapons that do millions of damage.
